Damien sat on the couch, his head in his hands. I didn’t know what to say to him. Not only did his oldest and closest friend die...but I know he felt it was his fault. Colten was still in the room, he refused to move, but we didn’t try to make him. Emily and I sat on the stairs, practically shaking from trauma. A knock at the door made us all jump, but the door swung open in seconds, Seth standing in the room. “Emily!” He ran up to her, pulling her into a hug as he lifted her in a spin. “I’ll never leave you alone again!” He kissed her softly and pulled her back into a hug. “Did he hurt you?” “No, I’m fine Seth...but...” “But what?!” Seth looked her up and down, but his peripherals caught the dreary mood of the room. “What happened?” Krista asked, standing at the door with Michael. I stood, biting my lip softly in nervousness. “Bella...she...” “She’s back!” Krista exclaimed, looking at Michael with excitement, but her happiness faltered when she looked back at me. “She’s...gone...” I whispered. Krista was in front of me now, hands on my shoulders, worry in her eyes. “What do you mean she’s gone?” I looked down, feeling my eyes getting watery. “She’s...she’s...de-” “What do you mean she’s gone?!” Krista shouted, and I looked up at her, screaming back, “She’s dead!” I felt Damien move outside. She dropped her hands from my shoulders and looked back at Michael, whose face was in shock. Emily had her face in Seth’s chest, who was in shock as well. “I’m sorry...Walter...he-” “This was Walter’s fault?! Are you fucking kidding me?! This bastard won’t stop! I’m going to rip him to shreds!” Krista shouted, her eyes beginning to shift amber. “Krista calm down.” Michael said, coming up behind her. She shut her eyes, exhaling. Her eyes opened, normal again. “I need some air.” She turned quickly, bumping into Michael a bit on her exit. Seth looked at me, “Can...I...” “Yes...you can see her Seth...” I nodded, turning towards the hall.

The four of us walked towards the room, and I opened the door. Colten was sitting on the bed, hugging Bella. “Colten?” I stepped into the room and he jumped up, smiling widely. Bella was sitting up, she wasn’t limp anymore. Or dead. She’s alive?! “You’re alive?!” I screamed, jumping up a little in my excitement as my eyes watered. I took a step forward to hug her, but in half a second, Damien had her in his arms. “Damien?” Bella asked, a little shocked at the sudden hug. He pulled back, hands on her shoulders, “Don’t you ever leave me again.” Pulling her back into a hug, she chuckled softly. He stepped back, smiling softly. “So...what happened?” She asked, looking around. “That bastard kissed you. So I attacked...and...he...” Colten said, his voice fading. “He um...he pressed some ball thing on your hand...and you passed out.” I said, walking over to stand beside Damien. At that point, Bella was analyzing her hand, “I remember all that...what happened after?” Damien wrapped an arm around me, “You were unconscious and your heart beat raced and-” “You died. Your heart stopped beating.” Colten was leaning against the wall, staring at the ground. I could tell he hated saying that. “Then how-” “I don’t know...but god I’m so happy your alive...” He whispered, looking up at her. “Colten hasn’t left your side.” I said, smiling with a hint of tease. She smiled shyly, looking over at him. Seth looked at Bella, “But wait, what happened to you then? Did you guys turn her before she died or-” “No...we didn’t. I don’t know how she’s alive...” Colten said. Bella’s eyes went wide, “Guys I-” “Well, maybe it’s that ball thing.” “Guys.” “What if she’s a ghost or-” “GUYS!” Bella stood up, her entire body practically shaking. “What’s wrong?” Colten was standing behind her now, hands on her shoulders. “I can’t feel my magic...I can’t feel anything...I...he took my magic...” Her eyes were wide, and she was panicking. “What do you mean he took it?!” Colten growled, now standing to face her. “He took my magic! I can’t do anything! It’s gone! It’s gone!” Her legs weakened and she felt like collapsing but Colten caught her and set her on the bed, holding her up with his arms to sit up. “I’m...human...” She whispered, looking up at Colten who only had fear and worry in his eyes.
