“Positive.” I whispered, my eyes watery as the air was escaping my chest. I walked over to the room, grabbed the bottle, and walked back, sitting down on the empty chair by the window. The girls sat completely silent, just staring in shock and terror at me. I swallowed the drink, setting the vial on the coffee table, and placed a hand on my stomach. “I hope it’s a girl...” I whispered playfully, chuckling as tears continued down my face. “Girls are too complicated.” Krista joked, smiling as much as she could without breaking and screaming at me. She was protective of me, but she also cared and knew I could really do without a lecture at the moment. “True, but they’re fun to dress up.” Emily said, laughing. “Oh! Yeah! I’d love to dress up a little mini me like a princess!” Bella nearly shouted, causing all of us to burst into laughter. “Does that mean that Damien will change back too?” Emily asked after we all calmed down. “I guess so, right? But when?” Bella asked, pulling at her sleeves. I leaned back a bit, my hand still on my stomach, and did some mental math. “Soon. Tonight, I think.” My eyes went wide with the last word, and now I was scared. “Where do you think the guys are?” I asked Krista. “I’ll call Michael.” She stood up taking her phone out of her jacket pocket and starting to call him.

“Strip club. I got the name of it, but they’re out and about right now. Colten took the phone and hung up before I could tell him what was up.” She rolled her eyes, dropping back on the couch. “We need to get to him, make sure he doesn’t hurt anyone.” I said, standing up with my hand still protectively on my stomach. “Don’t you think you should stay? You know, the baby and all...” Emily warned, getting up from her seat. “I’m still a vampire, I have the strength...sort of. Either way, I need to be there to console him...” “No. Emily is right.” Krista said fixing her jacket as she stood. “I’m going.” I stated, walking to the room to change. “Fine, but if you die it’s not our fault!” Krista shouted, walking out with Emily to their room.

Bella knocked on my door, which I quickly opened. I had pulled on a pair of jeans and a sweater over a tank top with my converse. She had a short pencil skirt with brown boots and a light green sweater. “How are you feeling?” She asked, pulling at her sleeves. “Um...I’m fine? And you?” I eyed her sleeves, looking her up and down. “I’m fine!” I quickly moved to her, pulling her sleeves up. Her veins were dark, as if her blood had turned black, and her skin was red with scratch marks. “Bell-” She quickly snatched her arms back, shoving me hard enough to throw me into the wall with a slight shock of electricity. I screamed as I fell on the night stand, knocking over a lamp. I looked up at Bella, who’s eyes flickered from black to emerald green. She was standing there, analyzing her hands, looking between each hand. “Bella?” She looked up at me, gasped, and ran over to me. “Are you alright? What happened?” I stared at her, confused, as I stood up. There was a heavy rapid knocking at the door, “I’m fine.” I said to her, walking past her and to the door. I opened it, the two girls rushing in. “Are you okay? We heard a scream?” Emily asked, looking between us. “Yeah, I’m fine. I fell. Let’s go.” I said, grabbing my bag off the dining table and heading out. They looked after me as I walked out, but I ignored it, completely terrified of what just happened. There really is something wrong with Bella...Not only do I have to get to Damien, but Colten needs to know what happened.

I pulled my phone out, dialing Damien’s number, and pressed call. It rang as I stepped into the elevator, the girls rushing behind me. Emily hit the first floor button as we stood in the elevator. “Hello?” Damien spoke on the other line. It was loud and noisy, really bad techno music playing in the background. “Where are you?!” I shouted, causing the other girls to jump. “I- I can’t hear you! Lill-” The call dropped and I groaned, frustrated. “Where is he?” Bella asked. “I don’t know, it dropped before I could hear him...There was a lot of noise in the background.” “They’re probably at the club now.” Krista suggested as the elevator came to the ground floor. “Great, we’ll head there.” Emily said, all of us walking off and heading for the taxis.
