It only took seconds for people to notice, and begin screaming. Things like “Wolf!” or the simple “Ah!” Unfortunately, my mother was one of these people, and she took instant notice that I was one of the closest people to the wolf. “Lillian!” She shouted, staring at me. “Mom! Run!” As soon as I yelled that, Krista jumped at me, knocking both Bella and Damien to the side. She went to bite my neck, but I blocked her with my arm, which she bit into. I could hear my mom screaming as my blood gushed out from the the wolf’s mouth, and I used one hand and my arm to pull her mouth open. I shoved my knee into her chest, pushing her over my head. I jumped up quickly, turning back to face her. “Krista! Listen to me! It’s Lilly!” She jumped at me again, but I fell back to dodge it and twisted to stand up again. Damien stood in front of me, trying to protect me. “I got her. Get my mom and Bella to safety please.” I pushed Damien towards Bella as he nodded, dodging another jump from Krista. I started to jog, trying to get her to follow me out of town. She sprinted after me, and I headed for the field. I could feel her on my tracks, and I was actually terrified. I could see Emily and Colten in the field, back to back, the two wolves circling them. Emily was calling out to Seth, but the power of the moon was too much, all three wolves had lost control. I jumped over the fence, which she broke through, but I fell on my landing. She landed on my back, digging her teeth into my neck and shoulder. I screamed in pain, trying my best to stand. Something knocked her off of me, and I rolled over to look around. Damien had his arms around her chest, eye blackened. I could see that his arms were tightening around her, and he threw his head back, fangs exposed. Oh no! I went to jump, but before I could, something else did. Michael had jumped, still wolf form, pushing Krista out of Damien’s grasp. But he wasn’t fast enough. Damien dug his fangs into Michael, and his hell born side was controlling him. Blood was staining Michael’s fur, we were all panicking. Colten nearly appeared on Damien’s shoulders, hands wrapped around his neck. He twisted it violently, knocking Damien out cold. The two fell, Colten jumping back and looking around. Krista was laying on the ground, panting hard. I could tell that Damien had broken her ribs in his hold, and now he was knocked out. Bella ran up to Colten, to which he responded with a relieved hug. Emily was on her knees, hugging Seth’s wolf form. He began to relax, rubbing his nose into her neck. Michael turned back to human, and Krista was slowly turning back.

Colten took Bella back to Damien’s house, along with Damien, who was still unconscious. I told them I would head over as soon as I knew Krista and Michael were okay. We took them to Michael and Seth’s house, their parents were still up north for the holidays. I called Bella, but Damien was still knocked out. Michael was in critical condition, his bite were healing extremely slow. Krista was still a little hazy from the pain of her ribs being shattered. Emily was asleep in Seth’s arms, she had passed out soon after we all settled down.

“Lilly?” Krista whispered, and I quickly knelt by her side. “Yeah, what’s up? You okay?” She looked over my shoulder at Michael, “How is he?” “Still knocked out...his wound isn’t healing.” I slowly stood, looking over at him. When I looked back at her, she had jumped up, grasping painfully at her ribs as she ran to his side. “Krista what are you-Stop!” She pressed her hands on his neck and her necklace began to glow. I pulled her away from him but she jumped back to him, trying again. “Krista it’s just going to hurt you!” I pulled her away again, and she stood up, grabbing me hard. “I don’t give a shit. Let me heal him, please. I love him...” I didn’t respond for too long and she pushed me off. “I’m sorry I hurt you...but I love him okay?” She turned to him, pressing her hands on his neck. She cried out in agonizing pain, blood beginning to spill from her neck. I cringed at the sight, tears forming in my eyes. Michael jolted awake, but Krista continued to press her hands. He looked around, and stared straight at her, his eyes wide as he noticed the blood. “Krista! Stop!” He reached up to push her, but he was still too weak. She was screaming now, the pain increasing. This woke Emily and Seth, who jumped up staring in fear at the scene. Michael tried to move but she was too strong. In seconds, she collapsed, coughing up blood. He jumped up, holding her in his arms. “No no no! Why?! Why did you do this? Why did you let her do this?” He looked at me with the last question, and I froze. “She...” “Why?!” “I couldn’t stop her...she loves you too much.” I responded, and his tears continued to fall. He looked back down at her, trying to brush away the excess blood from her wound. “She’s...healing...” He whispered, staring at her in awe. I stared at the scene, holding my breath in fear. She began to breathe again, coughing a little, looking around. He chuckled, tears falling down his face as he pulled her into a tight hug. “Oh thank god...” He whispered, crying. She pushed back a little, looking around more. “What happened?” She asked, looking between Michael and I. “You saved me...almost died...but healed...when I wasn’t...” He said, lifting her gently to sit them both on the couch. The two kissed, both just barely shaking from their fear. My phone rang, and I quickly picked it up. “Hello?” “You need to come. Now. It’s Damien.” The phone hung up, and I looked around. “What’s wrong? Who was it?” “Bella...Damien’s in trouble. I need to go! Please, stay alive, all of you.” I chuckled, looking between the four of them before dashing out of the house.
