"You don't have to do this," Lucy told me for bout the hundredth time.

"But I want to," I replied.

Ever since I told Lucy that I wanted to take part in the Heartbreak Challenge, she has been on my back trying to convince me to not to partake in the competition.

To be honest, I wasn't sure why I wanted to enter the challenge myself, my mind just gave me this urge to do it. Maybe this was going to be like my own Twilight, I was gonna join the competition and meet a vampire who I would fall in love with but it also came with a hot werewolf best friend and the vampire's long family and vampire babies and-

"Hey Ava, are you even listening to me!?" Lucy yelled.

"Sorry, got lost in a train of thoughts, what were you saying?: I said plopping down on my bed, putting on my black boots and strapping them up.

"This competition has no use Ava, it's not something you put on college applications or resumes," she spoke.

"I know, but what's a little dating gonna do," I said, grabbing my phone to check Instagram.
oooooh, new followers!

"Fine, be like that," she pouted, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Remember, that you were the one who told me about this competition.", I reminded her.

"Yeah, but you weren't supposed to take me literally," she whined.

"Can we please just go and meet Em at the cafe, please," making sure to the drag on the second please.

"Fine, but remember that when something bad happens to you during this competition, I won't be here to help you to get over it," she blurt.

Did she just? Yeah, I think she did. Yo ground, hold these earrings cause I'm this close to going Kung fu panda on Lucy.

"Just kidding," Lucy laughed, "but when something does happen don't expect me not to say I told you so."

Ugh, can she shut up, she's not my mom! But then again, my mom would give me more than a long lecture, she'd probably turn all psycho and lock me in my room and tell me to pray like Carrie's mom. I can imagine it now, Avalon; The Heartbreaking-no-telepathic-powers-but-really-hot Carrie sequel.

"Eva, come on, Emily's probably already at the cafe waiting on us," Lucy spoke, leaving the room.

I gave myself one last look in the mirror, I was wearing a long black blouse with a nice red jacket accompanied by red jeans and long black boots. One side of my short blonde hair was tucked behind my ear to show off the pearl earring I was wearing, which matched the pearl necklace I had around my neck. For makeup, smokey eye on my eye lids and a dark shade of red lipstick plastered on my lips.

Soon I heard the honking coming from Lou's car. I quickly snatched my purse off my bed and ran downstairs, exiting the house, making sure to lock the door as my parents and brother weren't at at home and ran to Lucy's car.

I entered the passenger seat, buckled up and looked at Lou, "Let's get this show on the road!" And with that, we drove off to the cafe.
