Chapter 1

  Today is Friday the day before Basketball try outs, yes it is weird to have them on a Saturday but Principal Ashwood had to look for a couch and new history teacher because are last one well died. As I was saying this year is mine and 2 others (aka BEST BASKETBALL PLAYERS ON THE TEAM) it's our last year of basketball and we plan on making it to finals. Abby, Kim, and I were at my locker for I can get my stuff out for we can go home
"Hey 22 can I talk to you?" Principal Ashwood asked me, see my lucky number and my mom favorite number before she died last year, and since I am the best they call me 22.
"Sure Mr. Ashwood what can I do for you?" I asked
"Can you lead stretches and maybe play a game tomorrow before the couch gets there I need to talk to her and she will be late for try outs?" he asked
"Sure no problem but the lights and gym has to be unlocked before I get there, I don't want a remix of what happen last times now do we" I said and laughed
"That is true and deal, Thank you so much 22 see you tomorrow" he said and walked away so I turned back to my friends
"So Kiki what are we doing tonight?" Abby asked
"Well once we get home I am going for my run, then we could go out to eat" I said
"Sweet, where should we go?" Kim asked as we walked to my car, and once we arrived to my car we got in and cracked up the radio and rocked out to the music. Kim and Abby were fighting over where to go but I put in our favorite cd and turned it up and they shut up and sang to it. When we arrived we got out and went inside my house and they headed straight to my refrigerator while I headed to my room to change into my running outfit. Once I got change I grabbed my music and walked down stairs,
"Ok girls I was wondering if maybe you're up for a challenge tomorrow before try outs?" o asked
"Depending by challenge" Abby said
"Well Mr. Ashwood wants me to lead stretches and a game or two before the new couch gets there so I was wondering if I could talk the others into it that maybe us 3 against the a full team?" I asked they looked at each other and then back at me
"What the catch" Kim asked
"Well if we win they have to do something we all agree on, but if we lose we have to do something they agree on" I said
"That I will agree on" they both said
"Ok I will be back in a little while, my phone in my room so don't try to call me" I said as I walked out of my house and I put my head phone in and started at a light jog towards the hospital, after about 30 minutes I arrived there so I took out my headphones turned off my music and walked inside
"Good afternoon Kiki going to see her?" the receptionist asked
"Yes I am" I said and walked to the elevator and headed to the kids section and I found the room I was looking for and knocked then walked in
"Hey Sophia, how you doing?" I asked as I walked over to the little 6 year old girl
"Hey Kiki I am doing good I am glad to see you when do try outs start?" she asked
"That's good to hear and tomorrow but I am going to do all my power to come after practice to see you" I said and sat on her bed just as her doctor came in
"Ah Kiki just the person I wanted to see" he said I kissed her on the forehead and told her I be right back
"So what's the update on Sophia?" I asked
"Well she hasn't got better but worse the tumor spread into her head she has the maximum is 3 months" he said
"Ok well I get my lawyer to get the adoption papers ready ASAP I want it to be a surprise, I love her like a daughter and I am going to talk to my principal Monday about it the fundraiser for her." I said
"She will love it, and since her parents died and her relatives don't want her and when you came into her life she had a smile on her face that was the first time I saw her smile in 4 months" he said
"Yea I feel bad for her but I was wondering if I pay for a privet nurse do you think she could go to the fundraiser?" I asked
"That's ok with me but I would like to accompany but I will be free because I want to watch over her" he said
"Ok thank you" I said and walked back into the room and I saw her watching T.V so I walked back over to her and laid by her
"So I will have a surprise for you tomorrow hopefully if not then by sometime this coming up week" I said
"Cool I can't wait, Kiki I am glad you visited me" she said
"I would always be here for you Sophia" I said and pulled her into a cuddle where we talked and after about an hour or 2 lost time I had to leave and Sophia was asleep so I left a purple teddy bear I just bought and I told her I see her tomorrow. I walked back out of the hospital and turn on my music and started to jog half way home I picked up my space and I turn the corner to my street when I hit someone
"I am so sorry" I said and I pulled out my music
"It's ok hun it was both are faults" she said and helped me up when I looked at her I saw the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on.
"I am so sorry once again, but I have to go have a good day" I said and ran off like there was no tomorrow. When I finally arrived home the girls were asleep so I walked up to my room and grabbed my phone and called my lawyer. He gave my awesome news and what time he will be at the hospital tomorrow and I agreed. I took a shower and got ready for bed.
