"Are you sure you don't wanna ride with us?"

"I'm totally sure, Riles. Go ahead. I'll just be waiting around."

"Peaches, c'mon."

"If she doesn't want to go, we shouldn't force her. Let's go Riley," Farkle grabbed Riley's hand and dragged her to the roller coaster. They were at the Santa Monica Pier for a field trip, a break from the busy New York.

"Lucas, you coming?" Farkle questioned as they looked back, Riley's hopeful eyes immediately landing on Maya, Farkle's on his best friend.

He shook his head and stepped towards Maya.

"Nah, I'm gonna accompany this blonde demon."

Maya stiffened. She had a huge crush on Lucas. Her cheeks immediately turned red, and she shied away.

"Are you okay, Maya?" Riley asked.

"Totally, yeah. Let's go Ranger Rick. Have fun you two!"

Maya turned towards the other direction and started walking. Lucas sped up behind her.

"What do you want to do, Pancake?"

"Don't call me that! You know I hate that," she scolded.

"Okaaaay, Maaaaaya," he teased, dragging the a.

"Thank you."

Inside her she was pretty much screaming. She was squealing. She was shouting. She was crying. She was laughing. It was just a huge burst of emotions inside her. Something she wasn't good at controlling.

"Hey. How about we take a spin on the ferris wheel?"

"Umm, sure."

They strolled over to the entrance of the wheel. She stared at the ground while waiting in line. What she didn't know was what Lucas was up to. He was staring at her long blonde wavy hair, with those big green eyes of his. He took admiration to her petite stature and her fierce attitude.

"Shall we, pancake?" he held out a hand as he led her to the car #16.

Her freckled cheeks ablaze, she took a seat beside him. Trying to me a gentleman, he carefully put his arm around Maya.

"The view's spectacular, huh?" Lucas asked Maya as they turned towards the view behind them.

"Picturesque," she muttered.

"Maya, I've been meaning to talk to you."

"Go ahead, Huckleberry. Spill," she said, regaining her coolness.

"I really like you, Maya," he said as he looked at her with a ton of emotions.

"Good one, Ranger Rick," she snorted, trying as hard as possible not to contemplate what it really meant.

"No, Maya. But seriously, I real-" Maya cut him off.

"No! That's not happening ever. You're just gonna be like the rest of all the people I love. Riley's moving away next year to go to college in London, Farkle is moving to Africa for some scientific crap I have no intention of understanding, my mom works 24/7, and my dad. You know what happened to my dad. The point is, everybody leaves me. And I'm afraid if I fell for you, you are going to leave me too. And once again, my heart will be broken."

"Maya, I'd never leave you. Ever since I met you that day on the subway, I fell in love with you. The feelings I get around you, it's indescribable. I only dated Riley so that you would know how much I'd to to date you, and what I'd do for you. Maya, I-"

"You're just like all of them, aren't you, Lucas?"

"Meaning?"

"You're just gonna break my already broken heart."

"Fine. You don't want me. That's okay. I'll just wait a few more years. See if I'm still interested. See if you'll be interested. Just know, Maya Hart, I'll be here. I'll wait."

He stormed out of the car, Maya calling out for him.

"Hey, Maya, where's Lucas going?" Riley asked, her hand intertwined in Farkle's.

"I-I, umm, don't know." she said, looking towards the direction he ran off to. What did I do? I shouldn't have done that. I like Lucas, but I'm scared. What should I do? I'm telling him. I'm gonna date him, and we'll be together. Definitely.

10 years later

"Lucas, honey, can you get Frankie out of her crib? Thank you!" 29 year old Maya Friar called out to her husband from the kitchen.

"Why, what's wrong with Jerry?" Lucas ran up the stairs of their house, heading into the room of their twins, Francesca Elziabeth Friar and Jeremiah Alexander Friar.

"His gums hurt and I'm trying to look for his teething toy." Maya rummaged around the kitchen.

"It's in Frankie's crib, dear!" he walked down the steps, 6 month old Frankie in his hands. "Catch."

Maya caught the toy successfully, and placed it in Jerry's small mouth. Maya rocked her sweet little boy and placed him in the hammock they had in their living room. She kissed his forehead and sat down beside him on the couch.

As soon as Lucas put baby Frankie down in her purple hammock, they walked out onto balcony they had.

"This view is, picturesque." Maya commented.

"Like that ferris wheel ride 10 years ago?" Lucas wrapped his hands around Maya's petite waist.

"What ride?" she joked trying to yank out of his grip.

"Don't play around, Friar." Lucas mocked, tackling her to the ground. They were nose-to-nose, smiling like idiots.

"I love you, Maya."

"Good one, Ranger Rick."
