( Time skip to a week following, Piazza Navona. A Monday afternoon. )

~ 3rd person POV ~

It has been an uneventful week. That afternoon, Patrick was lying down on the couch, placing his newspaper on the table right next to it. It has been a week since it happened...but my face is still in the headlines....gosh. Good grief. He had done the dishes, gave Obi a bath and cleaned the apartment while Sophie was at work. I wonder how she is doing at the University. I should pick her up later and tell her the good news.

~ A few hours prior to him lying on the couch ~ Patrick's POV ~

I went to the library while Sophie went to work. I wanted to apply as a librarian. Ahh...a job as a librarian would be great. I can browse through a lot of books! I thought.
I entered the library. Tall bookshelves stood before me. I eyed the manager of the library and walked towards him. I wore a casual outfit; shirt and pants. My hair was nicely brushed.

' Hello Sir, I saw that you are open for new employees and I would like to apply to be one. My name is Patrick McKenna. ' I said, offering my hand.
' Nice to meet you, Patrick. Please, follow me. ' He said, shaking my hand.
I followed him to his office. The library was huge. I will get lost here...for sure. Seeing plenty of books brought back memories.

    ~ 3rd Person POV ~

It was Christmas Eve. The 10 year old, former chamberlain, laid on his bed, waiting for his mother to come home.
' Carlo! I'm home! ' Maria, Carlo's mom, shouted.
' Mom! ' Carlo shouted back.
Maria held plenty of books in her hand, each one wrapped with Christmas themed wrapping paper. She placed it under the tree and went to Carlo's room. She opened the door and there stood Carlo, waiting for her.
' How was Christmas shopping, mom? '
' It was fine, Carlo. I know that you want to know what I've gotten for you but sorry, it's a surprise! '
' Aww, okay. Thank you, anyway. ' Carlo said, hugging her tight.
Maria brought Carlo back to his bed and waited until he fell asleep. She took a blanket and laid it over him. Maria left the room and went to hers.

    It was Christmas morning.

' Mom! Wake up! Its Christmas! ' Carlo beamed.
Maria gently opened her eyes and hugged Carlo.
' Merry Christmas, Carlo. Come lets open up the presents. '
    ' Yay! '
They went downstairs, to the Christmas tree. It was lit by different colored Christmas lights, going around it. Carlo could not wait and ran down the staircase. As soon as he saw the presents, his eyes were wide open.
' Oh my. There's so many of them! Thank you, mom! '
' You'll love them. ' She replied, smiling.
Carlo opened each present and tears trickled down his face. Books were his favorite and each present, was a book. He ran up to his mother and hugged her tight. He then handed her a present that he got for her. Maria was surprised. She unwrapped the present and there was a...necklace.
' Oh my. How much did this cost, Carlo? '
' A few hundred dollars but it didn't matter because it is for you. '
' Thank you, Carlo. I hope you'll love the books. '
' I love them. A lot. Thank you, mom. '

    ~ Pat-Car/Patrick's POV ~

' Um, Patrick? Are you alright? '
' I am so sorry, Sir. Seeing the books made me remember memories when I was with my mother. '
' Oh. You love books, don't you? '
' I do. Thats why I wanted to work here. '
' You're in luck then. All the employees here get to borrow as many books as they want. Not the whole library, though. '
    ' Wow...thats amazing. '
' Its the best we could do for our employees that are book-lovers. '

When we reached his office, he handed me some papers and an employee ID. He attached a picture of me on the ID. What? Why is he giving me an ID when I haven't even been accepted into this company?

' You're probably wondering why I gave you those. '
' I am. '
' Well...you're accepted! I could see in your face that you'd be a great employee! Do you want to borrow any books? '
' Yes, please. Do you have Trainspotting? The Fault In Our Stars? Or do you have any suggestions? '
' Yes! We have those books. Basically you're taste in books is perfecto! '
He handed me the books.
' Thank you so much. When do I start? '
' Tomorrow, can you come? We have to clean the library and rearrange the books. '
' Okay. Thank you, again! ' I thanked him and left the library.
I jumped with joy and went back to the apartment.
' THANK YOU LORD!!! ' I screamed in front of the library. Passersby looked at me with much curiosity but I did not care. I was so grateful and happy. He didn't recognize me. Thank goodness. Thank you, Father.
