The doorbell rang and I glanced over at the clock, it read 7:46 pm. He was early which came as a total shock. I ran down the stairs and opened the door and he greeted me with a smile then we walked out the door to his car. The drive there wasn't as event worthy as I had thought. I believed that we would carry on a conversation but that didn't appear to be what was gonna happen.

After a couple miles of silence he finally spoke,"I'm sorry if I'm being kind of weird..." he kept his eyes on the road looking straight ahead.

"You're not being weird," I said in concern.

"It's just that I haven't been on many dates before," he hesitated in the middle of his sentence but continued, "and I just don't want to screw things up."

"Thi....this..This is a date?" I said puzzled yet still a smile was draped across my face.

"I was really hoping so," he said as he reached for my hand and curled his fingers in between mine. The rest of the ride went by fast. Quicker than I could blink we were pulling into the driveway of the theater, he came around and opened up my door letting me out. Arm in arm we walked into the theater and in that moment I could care less who he was because right then and there I was loving who he is.

The night went perfectly and I hoped that we would have another night just like that. My hand in his he walked me up to my door, I thought a kiss goodnight was a thing that only happened in books and movies ,but that night Jake proved me wrong. He left me with a kiss goodnight and I walked into my house and up the stairs to my room.

The feeling I had that night was unlike anything else. I couldn't help but smile and I couldn't stop smiling. Before heading to bed I checked my phone as I always do and I slept well after the message Jake had sent me. It wasn't anything big, just a little something that let me know that there would be a next time. I couldn't wait for school the next day and I couldn't wait to see him.
