The Boy

Tavious' POV

I sat in the living room waiting for this excuse of a dad to take me to school. I was already late for the bus because he forgot to wake me up, now he taking his precious time to put on a suit and tie. If he is not down here in 2.3 seconds I'm walking to school. It's like he read my mind because his monkey-looking self came jogging down the steps with a smile on his face. I just looked away like I ain't see it. I heard him sigh and I just stood up and walked outside to the car and got in the passenger side. He hoped in and started the car but he didn't back out.

I turned to look at him and he was already looking at me, I smacked my teeth "Man what is you waiting for I got a geometry test today and if I don't pass Coach Mark ain't gon let me play" I said getting aggravated. "He sighed " Tay lo-" I interrupted him "Don't call me Tay only people I associate with call me Tay" I said real mad now. "Look I get your mad at m-" I interrupted him again "MAD!! I-" he interrupted me "SHUT THE HELL UP BOY!! WHEN IM TALKING DONT INTERRUPT ME!!! YOU GOT THAT??" I sat there shocked but quickly recovered and nodded.

"Now as I was saying I know your mad at me because I took you from your mother, but I had to she was doing thi-" I interrupted him again "oh yeah like what?" I said in disbelief he would say that. He gave me a look and then continued talking. " Like I was saying she was doing some things that you wouldn't understand right now. She knew I was coming to get you but she just didn't know when. On the bright side you get to see her on Thursdays and Mondays and you spend a whole month with her during the summer. So don't be mad at me because she wanted this to happen." I nodded because he was right but I just can't find it in my heart to believe him.

He smiled then backed out of the driveway and headed to the school. Once we pulled up I got out the car and told him bye. I walked up the school steps and saw my boo Michelle. I walked over to her and taped her shoulder then ran to her other shoulder so she wouldn't see me, when she she finally turned around I had a rose in my hand. She turned around and smile then hugged me. "Hey beauty how has your day been?" I smiled then gave her the rose. "Better now that your here" she said sniffing the rose. The bell rang and me and her went to first period: Geometry. As me and Michelle walked in I took my seat next Jh'riah Campell.

We don't talk much, even though our moms are best friends, we live two different lives. I'm the football quarterback and she's a cheerleader. Even though a lot of people think that the cheerleaders and the football players are always together, that's not the case at Montana Middle School. The football players are out at field practicing and the cheerleaders have a whole different gymnasium. It's what the principal instructed because of what happened four years ago. Anyway back to what in was saying, me and Jh'riah never got to know each other since every time I'm with my mom I have football practice till 5:30pm and that's right when she has to work till 8:50pm. "Wassup Jh'riah how you been" I said trying to be nice. "Oh....hey Tay I'm go- I'm sorry I didn't mean to call you Tay it kind've slipped out,"

she said covering her mouth. I chuckled "Jh'riah it's fine girl, you cool so you can call me Tay, as long as I can call you J." I said smirking I looked at her as she nodded her head, she was about to smile at me but she put her face down instead. I looked up and saw Michelle mean mugging Jh'riah. " Babe why are you talking to Mrs. Teacher's pet?" I looked at J and she already had a tear forming in her eyes. "Michelle chill I started talking to her she ain't want no trouble. I said for J's sake,            

"T are you taking up for her?" She asked looking a mess. " If you're taking up for her then I find no reason to be with you." She said swishing off to her seat, I rolled my eyes and sighed. I just don't pick the right ones man, " I'm sorry Tay I didn't mean to mess up your relationship I was just saying hey" Jh'riah said looking sad, I chuckled she apologies to much. " Jh'riah seriously stop apologizing" I said looking at her. She giggled and I shook my head I was about to ask for her number so we could talk but Ms.Accord walked in and the bell rang so I chose against it.

After school was over I road the bus home, since it was Thursday I rode near my mom's house instead. When I was off the bus I went into my moms house and saw my dad and my mom all hugged up laughing, I was so confused. " Dad what are you doing here?" I asked, he looked down at my mom smiling and she looked at me, "son me and your father made up." She said with the biggest smile I have ever seen. Wow mom that's great for both of you so does that mean I get to move in back with you?" I said the smiling too, " yes son that's exactly what that means. But we have some other news too." She said looking from my dad to me to back to my dad. "Well what is it mom?" I asked nervous of what she might say, "We're moving to California near your nana!!" She said really excited, but my face went from a smile to a frown in less than three sceonds. Because this meant I would have to leave my homies, my popularity, but mostly the one person I just got to know.
