Mated to the wrong one

Chapter 15- Deciding whats next

-Devon's POV-

I watched as Penny started to kick and wail on Sarah. I can't believe that she just blew up on her like that. What did Sarah say that made Penny get so upset. It must of been something quite bad because Penny is usually a very calm collected person. I was standing there talking with her parents when I noticed it. Her father finally saw what I was looking at and hurried over to Penny. He grabbed her wrist just as she was about to sock Sarah right in the face. Good timing. I make my way over to hear her father talking to her.

"Penelope Rose Jefferies. Get off your Beta's mate and get home this instant. Do you hear me?"

"Yes father."

I watched as she walked off into the woods and towards her house. I finally blinked seeing as everything was done. I would have never seen this coming. Is that naive of me to think that my ex girlfriend wouldn't be upset about my mate? I think some would think so. I just thought that this would never happen because Penny was so against me trying to still sneak kisses and see her behind Sarah's back. I still love Penny. I dont think I can get over the love we have. She was my first love and I grew up loving her. My wolf wants me to mark and mate with Sarah because he feels the pull stronger then I do, but I have refused him.

I feel her wolf calling to him and I have let him meet her and get to know her on his own time. But, I still have such strong feelings for Penny. I never asked for my mate. In fact I asked the moon Goddess to make a point to forget about giving me one. I could of gone with out ever meeting her. I was happy with Penny. I had dreamed of making her my wife one day. At the end of the summer I even bought her a ring. We had known and been together for so long that I knew nothing but her. I never wanted something else with anyone else. Then Sarah showed up in my life.

I happened to come upon Sarah by chance. My wolf and I were restless because we hadn't seen Penny in a few days. My father forced me to come with him to this meeting so that I could learn the territory and understand about this area. I got up early and decided why not go for a run and get a lay of the territory. If we ever needed to help we needed to know the ins and outs. So I was on the out most region when I caught a scent. It smelled delicious and my wolf took over for us. We started to chase the smell until finally we came upon a cream wolf lying by a tree. She was beautiful and we walked up slowly as not to scare her.

Once she noticed us she came straight to us and laid down. She knew we had dominance over her. This pleased my wolf. I on the other hand am very upset about the whole situation. I didn't want to have a mate, but my wolf screamed to her. He kept repeating in my head that she was ours. He completely forgot about Penny and that upset me. I motioned for her to stand and nudged her forward. We needed to get back to the pack house. I had to decide if I was going to bring her home or not. I am the future beta of my own pack so she would be joining us.

We ran full speed back to the house and I hid behind the tree I left my clothes on and she did the same. When she came out she had her head down. I felt sorry for her. Its not like she asked for a mate that was already in love with someone or even from another pack. I motioned for her to come inside and that's when I noticed my father sitting at the counter at the kitchen starting to sip on his coffee of the morning. Must of been a long night for them.

"Good Morning father."

"Hey Devon, oh and Sarah. I see you have met the Beta's daughter Sarah. Good. I was going to introduce you today."

"Actually, I came upon her just now when I caught her scent."

It took him a minute, but he finally figured it out when we were both silent.
