My Brother's Enemy
Chapter 8:
-Sam's POV-
I bit my lip, nervously as Harry paced back and forth, angrily. He looked completly furious as he sent a look to Louis, who was sitting beside me. The look must've meant 'You can go now' because he nodded and stood up, leaving our house. I opened my mouth to talk but nothing came out as I was terrified of the state he was in. I've never seen him this angry since the day he came home and told me that he hated the Horan family. I never knew why because he never told me. My face went pale as he stood infront of me, his eyes burning through me. I looked down at my lap, not wanting to make him angrier by staring back.
"Why would you do such a thing?" He spoke, rage still clear in his voice. I stayed silent, words not being able to form.
"Sam, I'm talking to you," He raised his voice a little and I could tell he was getting irritated by my silence, but it's not like I was doing it on purpose...Words generally weren't flowing out of my mouth.
"Goddammit, Sam! I'm not gonna hurt you! I just want answers!" Harry yelled, making me flinch. My eyes slowly raised to meet his dark ones.
"I-I was being stupid...I didn't know anything would lead to this day..." I mumbled, barely audible.
"No shit, Sam. You were being stupid. Do you realise how much danger you could've got yourself into?" He asked, rhetorically. I blinked away a few tears. He's never yelled at me like this.
"How long have you been seeing him?" He asked, looking away. I swallowed, hard,
"F-For about a week or two..." I whispered. He kept his intent gaze away from me as he gritted his teeth.
"When did it all start?" He questioned.
"The night I was away from home...I was really at his, and, um, you can guess what happened..." I answered, quietly.
"Okay, so, you're no longer a virgin." He said through gritted teeth. I shook my head, slightly.
"And what the fuck did you think you were doing wearing a short dress to a club with him like that?!" He snapped, his eyes shooting back to me; and that's where I lost it. I lost all the rage I held in for the past couple of years because I let it out.
"No! Y'know what? I'm eighteen! I can do what I like! You don't own me...infact you never did! Yeah, maybe because Mum died, you were in charge of me but it didn't mean you could take my freedom away from me. I have a right to do what I want. So what, I had sex with Niall Horan. What's the big deal? What do YOU have against him anyway?" I shot, standing up and shooting him a glare.
"Where did you learn to talk to me like this?!" He bit back. I snorted and rolled my eyes,
"Answer my question, Harry. What have you and Niall been arguing about for all these years?" He bit his lip,
"I'll tell you when the time comes," He muttered. I rolled my eyes again, mumbling a 'whatever.' My feet stormed upstairs after taking one last look at Harry's red face. I slammed my door shut and locked it before changing and going under the covers. Harry was so difficult at times. I wanted to know about this hatred they have between them but no, he decides to push me off and make me crash land. Why doesn't he want me to know? This is like some sort of mission; but I can't even ask Niall because I said I don't want him near me...which is true. But, to be honest, Harry started the fight. Even though Harry started the fight, I did tell Niall to stop, but he didn't. I don't care if he was drunk, I just need to make myself realise and understand that he's a player.
Hopefully, I'll be successful.
***
-Niall's POV-
She couldn't do that, right? She can't just say she doesn't want me near her, right?
Yes, yes. She can, because she did; and I hate the fact that she did. I don't know if it was because I touched her like I did or if it was the fact that I fought back when Harry hit me. It's not my fault, right? I was drunk when I touched her and I was using self-defence when I hit back.
But, the problem is, it is my fault. All is my fault.
The words that Sam said before she left, played over and over in my head as I lay in bed. My body twisted and turned as I tried to get asleep. The words just wouldn't leave my head. My eyes watered as I thought of Sam.
Her eyes.
Her smile.
Her giggle.
Her hair.
Her perfect personality.
Her.
I hope that soon, she'll be mine and no-one will be able to stop us. I hope that she forgives me. But, I know that'll take a while. I've learnt that it's hard to take her walls down once she builds them. It's difficult to make her understand that she's thinking wrong when she thinks she's thinking right.
Like now, she thinks that she's right by saying I shouldn't go near her but I know she's wrong because no matter how hard she'll try, she won't be able to keep herself away from me.
She obviously doesn't know that she's developed feelings for me. She doesn't know that she loves me.
You can see it in her eyes when she looks at me. All you see is positive such as love.
I will win her back, no matter what.
