My Brother's Enemy
Chapter 14:
-Niall's POV-
Huh. Guess who Sam slept with after I thought we were cool? She slept with Ewan. Yes, Ewan Hopkins. Or as she likes to call him, 'Popkins'. And I thought she loved me. She's just like the other slags. (A/N. I don't think one of my best friends is a slag xD)
I rolled my eyes at her as she strolled towards me with Popkins. I was leaning against a tree in the park. Maybe I wouldn't have come if I'd known that her and Ewan are going to be here.
"Hey, Nialler. How are you feeling?" She asked, smiling. How could she smile after telling me that she loved me then sleeping with another guy? Disgusting. I didn't bother looking, let alone replying. My hand reached for the phone in my pocket. I pretended to text someone when in reality, I was just writing in my notes. Everything I writ was directed to Ewan. I hate him. He's a cunt. Nothing less. Maybe something more.
"Niall. She's talking to you." His voice was deep and warning. I shrugged and rolled my eyes again. They couldn't see my eyes because of the black Ray Bans covering them. After a minute of two, Sam decided to speak again.
"I guess you heard everything about me and Ewan?" She sighed. When I didn't make a sound or even move, she gave up,
"If a douche isn't gonna listen then I'm not gonna waste my words on that douche."
Ouch.
That hurt. I heard her stomp away, Popkins following. I huffed and sat down on the dry grass, watching the kids play around me. Smiling, I remembered the first time I met Harry. We were best friends.
-Flashback-
"Hello!" I said, smiling at the curly haired boy in front of me. I was new in this town and was desperate to make friends. He smiled and looked down, shyly,
"Hi," He mumbled.
"What's your name?"
"Harry. Yours?"
"Niall. Well Harry, want to play ball with me?" I asked, holding up the large football in my small hands. His eyes lit up and nodded.
-End Of Flashback-
Nothing was like that anymore. It was all about hating each other. Even if Harry brought me to the hospital, he still hated me. Sam made him take me. I still wonder why Jade ran away.
Shrugging it off, I began walking down the secret hill. Harry took me down here when we were twelve and showed me a bit of the park which wasn't really noticed. It was like a trip down memory lane.
-Flashback-
"C'mon!" He gestured to follow him. I obeyed. This path was a bit muddy and mum will probably kill me if I get my football kit covered in mud. I still followed the crazy boy. Soon, he pushed some branches and bushes out of the way, revealing a playground. There was a big slide with a block bit under it like shelter. There was swings, a merry-go-round, a hammock and a zip line. I gasped in awe at the sight.
"Apparently there're ghosts here." He tried to scare me but I shook my head and laughed.
-End Of Flashback-
I sat under the shelter of the slide and smiled at all the great times we had here. I remember when we thought someone coming but it was Dusty the cat. Dusty died about two years ago. She was the cutest cat and belonged to Ms. Lena. I have to admit, I did have a crush on her when I was thirteen. But that doesn't have to come up again. I cringed at it before sighing.
Memory lane was fun until the incident happened. The incident that divided me and Harry.
-Flashback-
Me and Harry walked down the road, discussing the usual. Sports. Football. Parties. Girls. And sex. Sex didn't always come up but when it did, we'd probably say who we fucked over the week.
We were sixteen.
Once the time came, we went our separate ways. I to my house and him to his. Unlocking my door, all I could hear was giant sobs coming from the living room.
"Mum? Greg?" I called for my mum and my brother. Walking into the living room, I saw that Greg was trying to comfort mum as she wept onto his shoulder. I dropped my bag and rushed to her. Nothing was worse than seeing your mother crying.
"Mum! What's wrong? Why're you crying?" I asked, frantically, rubbing circles on her back. Greg looked at me angrily.
"Harry's dad shot our dad. Dad had enough time to shoot him back. They're both dead."
"What?! Why?!" I yelled.
"No one will ever know! They're dead!" He shouted.
-End Of Flashback-
I let the tears fall as I remembered Dad. He's forever and always in my heart.
