!~* Allison's POV *~!
Saturday was one of the best nights I have had in awhile; I think I'm starting to warm up to South Carolina, though it was very different from my old home in Tennessee. I fumbled through the rest of the weekend lazily, and spent time with my family all while having a never ending conversation with Cody via text. Monday was present soon, and shockingly, I wasn't in protest of having to attend school. I was actually somewhat excited. Eva would be starting, and I could always look forward to hanging around Cody for the majority of the day, considering our almost identical schedule.
My leg shook furiously as i watched the door of my first period's classroom and the clock at the same time. He had told me he would be there to aid me again, in all honesty i had forgotten where all my classes were, but as the seconds ticked away, I began doubting his attendance. The bell rang right on time, and Cody came in smoothly, smiling to himself, proud of his time management.
"Why so late Anderson? Still hung up on our phone call from earlier?" I whispered teasing him.
"If you must know, most of my north morning was spent trying to impress you, and I wouldn't mind a kind compliment," he smirked, causing me to allow a soft giggle to escape as Mrs. Ramey began taking roll.
"Well you did a good job; you look very handsome," I smiled, deciding I would cut him some slack.
"Well thank you my lady-" he was going to say something else, but Mrs. Ramey interrupted.
"Is there something you all would like to share Mr. Anderson, or Ms. Cooper?" She s scowled in our direction.
"Well, I would like to start off by saying, I really like A-"
"He really likes Andrew Carnegie. You know the famous industrializer? Yeah, him," I butted in. I knew he was gonna say he really liked me, but in front of the whole class? I wasn't ready yet, I wasn't sure I could handle the indeed inevitable comments that would be thrown my way.
"Oh, well, thank you for that, actually, that's what our lesson for today is over: The Industrial Revolution," she now grinned as everyone groaned, and pulled out the necessary supplies to take notes.
Soon, class ended and I rushed out, not waiting on Cody. I wasn't a fan of confrontation, and although I knew we would have to have that conversation at some point, I would've much rather it been after school. So, in efforts push back the conversation, I decided to avoid him; but how much avoiding could i have done, considering, again, our very similar schedule. I all but ran down the hallway, preparing to hop down the few steps that lead to the outside area before a hand clasped over my mouth, and i was pulled backwards. I cursed mentally, remembering the events of Saturday and Louis.
"Shhhh.. It's just me," I heard his soothing voice say.
"Oh my gosh, Cody, don't do that!" I screeched, trying to rid myself of fear as I now stood in front of him in the small closet.
"Sorry. I just wanted to talk. You know, about us," he paused and pointed between us two.
"This better be good... Go."
"Well, as you know, I have sort of a reputation around here with... girls. You've seen them ambush me at times, but I always tell them that I'm interested in someone at the moment. I just wish I had proof to show that that statement is true, but the only person I am interested in is the one who doesn't want to be caught dead with me. I guess what trying to say is that I would appreciate if we were a little more open. People don't have to know our status, it's not their business, but i would at least like to be seen with you," he sighed nervously, scratching the back of his neck.
