Prologue~

Dani Duncan got off her motorcycle and turned the engine. Her windswept hair was sticking out every which way. Thank god she was smart and always brought a hairbrush with her. She pulled it out of the seat compartment and brushed her hair so it was tame. She had always hated her hair, it was too long, but she never bothered to cut it.

She walked in up to her new friend’s, Nikki Kinning, house. Nikki had just moved her from a boarding school. Her parents wouldn’t let her go back to her old school, so they moved and came to the small city of Greenland, Ohio. Dani knocked on the door and after about a minute the door opened revealing Nikki. Her caramel hair was up in a ponytail and she had little makeup on. “Hi!” She said cheerfully, which Dani mentally cringed at. She didn’t particularly like perky girls. “Uh, hi.” She said. “Come in,” Nikki said, moving out of the way so that Dani could come in. She walked into Nikki’s house. It was a nice one story house, it was painted a baby blue, which Dani found interesting. “Here, let’s go to my room.” Nikki said, grabbing Dani’s wrist and lead her down the hall to her room. Nikki shut the door and Dani looked around. Nikki’s room was painted pink. It had a desk, a full sized bed with a blue comforter, two comfy chairs and had some white drawers.

Nikki sat down on the bed and patted the space next to her. Dani put down her purse and sat down next to Nikki. They talked for awhile and got to know each other better. After a few hours Dani left on her motorcycle.

“Jade! Hurry up!” Jade Summers’ mother, Mrs. Summers, called from downstairs. “I’m coming! I’m coming!” Jade yelled from her room, slipping on her heels and grabbing her purse. Jade and her mother were having dinner with her friend, Courtney Vaught and her mother, Mrs. Vaught. After Jade joined her mother in the car, they were off. They met each other at a restaurant. “Hi Jade!” Courtney said as she walked- no, ran up to Jade, giving her a hug that almost knocked her down. “Hi Courtney,” Jade said, trying not to slap the blonde on the back of her head.

You see, Courtney wasn’t that bright, and if you left her alone with anyone, that person could go insane from her stupidness, but Jade had gotten used to it over the years. After they let go of each other they all went into the restaurant and ate. Afterwards, they all went and saw a movie, Halloween: H20. Jade choose it, she loves scary movies. The kinds that make you afraid to be alone. After the movie was over, they all said their goodbyes and went home.

When Jade got home, she changed in a neon pink sports bra and sweats, pulled her black- pink and blue streaked hair up in a ponytail, and put her sneakers on. “Mom, I’m going on my run!” Jade said, walking out the door. She waited until she heard her mother’s reply before running off into the night. After about 15 minutes of running she heard a scream.

Ashley Connors absolutely hates the smell and/or the sight of blood. It makes her feel sick. She pulled her red hair up in a ponytail. She didn’t dye her hair though. Her little brother put red hair dye in her shampoo, so now her once blonde hair is now a crimson red. She was dressed in a tanktop and some of her short shorts. She saw some girls outside her window on her neighbors lawn and decided to go check it out.

There was a blonde, a girl with black hair, a girl with brown hair, and a girl with caramel hair. They were all looking at something. She pushed the caramel hair girl out of the way, “Bitch.” Ashley heard her mumble. She nearly screamed if it weren’t for the girl with the black hair. She put her hand over Ashley’s mouth, making the scream sound like a small squeak.

There, lying on the ground was a girl. A dead girl. She had wavy auburn hair that was sprawled out around her head. There was blood on her shirt, what looked like a stab wound. “Oh my god.” The brown haired girl whispered. They all looked at her as she picked up a bloody butcher knife. “Dani, what the hell is that?” The caramel haired girl said. “Nikki, I think it’s what she was killed with.” Dani said. “Courtney, oh my god.” The black haired girl said. “Jade, I see a dead body!” Courtney said, frightened.
