Was It You? {COMPLETED}

Chapter 1

When Ashley woke up in a bed that wasn’t her own, she shot up. Then she remembered the previous night. She sighed and dragged herself out of bed and walked downstairs to get some breakfast. When she got to the bottom of the stairs she could smell bacon. She walked in the kitchen and saw Dani cooking bacon, Jade and Nikki were eating some eggs but Courtney was nowhere to be seen.

“Morning,” Jade said, picking up the egg with the fork and ate it. Nikki put down her phone, “Feeling better?” She asked Ashley. “Yeah, I guess.” She responded. “Where’s Courtney?” This question made Nikki, Dani and Jade stop what they were doing and look at her. “She’s, uh, still asleep.” Dani finally said, and flipped her straight brown hair out of her face. They didn’t wanna scare Ashley with the details of the previous night.

Courtney was actually sleeping up in her room, thank god.

Dani put some bacon on a plate and handed it to Ashley. “Here, eat something.” Ashley nodded and sat down next to Nikki at the table. She ate it and put the plate in the sink. “I’m surprised they let us have knives and matches.” Jade said, picking up a butcher knife and looking at it. “I mean, we’re suspects right?” Dani shrugged, “I guess they think we won’t kill each other because we’re allies.”

“Or they’re seeing what we do with them.” Nikki suggested. “Maybe,” Dani responded, taking the knife from Jade’s hands. She pointed it at Jade, “This isn’t something you play with.” Then she put the knife back with the others.

Jade finished her food and put the plate in the sink. Nikki looked out the window and squealed. “There’s a pool!” She said, pointing. Ashley, Jade, and Dani looked outside, and sure enough, there was a giant underground pool. It’s blue water was sparkling under the sunlight. “Thank god they brought us our bikinis and our other clothes!” Nikki said and ran upstairs to change into her bikini. Ashley, Jade, and Dani went upstairs to get their bikinis on.

Nikki was the last to come down. She was wearing her favorite lilac string bikini. Ashley’s halter bikini was a blue ombre, Dani’s was a simple sexy black string bikini, and finally Jade’s was a bright pink string bikini. Jade was laying on on of the chairs tanning, Ashley was diving in the deep end of the pool from the diving board. Dani was rubbing sunscreen on.

“It took that long to but on that little bikini?” Dani asked. Nikki just shrugged and slowly got into the cold water.

After about an hour Courtney came out in a fringed bikini. “Hi!” She said as if the night before didn’t happen. They all responded with a ‘hey’ or ‘hi’. Courtney ran to the pool shouting a ‘cannonball’ and splashed everyone when she jumped in. Jade jumped up from her chair, dripping wet and angry.

“Damnit Courtney!” She shouted and dove in the pool after Courtney. Courtney ran out of the pool and onto the side. Dani took advantage of this and pushed Courtney into the pool. When Courtney did resurface, she reached up for help out of the pool. Dani fell for this, Courtney pulled her into the pool with her. When Nikki splashed the others, a splash war started.

After they got out of the pool, they all dried themselves with the towels and walked to their rooms to change.

Jade was the first to be downstairs. She was dressed in a light blue crop top and high-waisted jean shorts. Dani came down next, she had on a white spaghetti strap tank top with a black leather jacket over it with some jeans. Next was Nikki, she had on some short jean shorts and a pink spaghetti strap tank top.  Then was Ashley, she was wearing a purple tee and some jeans. Courtney came down last, she was wearing her pink bra and some black shorts.

There was an awkward silence. “Courtney, you should, uh, put a shirt on.” Dani was the first to speak and break the silence. Courtney facepalmed, “I knew I forgot something. Brb girls!” She ran up stairs.

“Is it me, or is she stupid and annoying?” Nikki said quietly. They all muttered, “I agree.” Just then Courtney came down the stairs in a shirt with a kitten on it.  “I’m back!” She said. They all nodded. Dani turned on the TV and turned on Teen Wolf.

After an episode of Teen Wolf the girls decided to have a horror movie marathon. Like Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare On Elm Street.

During Nightmare On Elm Street, Ashley was hiding her face so much she basically wasn’t watching the movie. Dani forced her to undercover her hands during the middle of the movie. Turns out, she actually liked it when she wasn’t hiding her face. After about 5 or so movies, Ashley was the last one up. She got bored with all the old movies and turned on a newer movie; Scream 4. After it was over, she fell asleep.

Nikki woke up to the smell of blood. She opened her eyes and looked around, everyone else was sleeping. She could see the red on the her blankets, it was her thigh. She removed the blanket from her thigh and there was about half a foot long gash on her leg. She screamed, and everyone woke up. Dani was the first to speak, “What the hell happened?” Nikki showed Dani her leg, and Jade turned a shade of green.

“I’ll go get the first-aid kit.” Dani said, got up and went to the bathroom for the first-aid kit. When she got back she got out the gauze and stitches. Nikki went pale. “It’s alright, I went to an internship at the hospital, I know how to do this.” She reassured her. Nikki nodded and Dani got out the needle to do the stitches.

After Dani did the stitches and wrapped Nikki’s thigh in gauze, she helped Nikki to her room. “Okay, don’t get up, call us if you wanna come downstairs or need help walking or something. Watch a movie or something. Okay?” Dani told her, and Nikki nodded. Dani handed her the remote and walked back downstairs where Ashley, Jade and Courtney were. She ran her hand through her hair. She was glad she went to that internship.

“How did that happen?” Jade was the first to ask. Dani shrugged, “She couldn’t have done it to herself, she was far too freaked out and scared.” Ashley piped up, “Someone must have done it to her last night,” “But wouldn’t she have woken up?” Jade asked. Dani shook her head, “She can sleep through everything, and I mean everything.”

Jade and Ashley were silent for a moment. “Couldn’t she have done it to herself in her sleep?” Courtney suggested. “Well, she does sleepwalk sometimes. That could explain it.” Dani said.

“That’s probably the smartest thing you’ve ever said, Courtney.” Jade said. Courtney smiled.

After they watched some TV, Courtney offered to get some drinks for the girls. They all told her what they wanted and Courtney walked into the kitchen. She grabbed a coke for Jade, some water for Ashley, a pepsi for Dani, and a coke for herself. Then she walked back  into the living room and sat down with the girls. Soon they were all asleep.
