Chapter 5~

Courtney zipped up the pink champagne colored cocktail dress she had picked out and looked in the mirror. She looked herself over and turned to Donna. “Does this dress make my butt look big?” She asked her. Donna looked her over and said, “No, it makes your boobs look bigger.”

Courtney took another look at herself in the mirror and said, “You’re right.”

She saw a lady pass, “Hey, Ma’am?” The lady stopped and said, “Yes?” “Can I have this dress held and ready for Friday?” The lady nodded, “Just put it on the counter and we’ll save it for you.” And with that she walked away.

Courtney and Donna walked back to Courtney’s silver Prius. They drove to Donna’s house; it was a 3 story mansion, similar to Courtney’s house, Donna’s parents were rich, they were always on ‘business trips’, which was really vacations to Italy and Hawaii and Germany, you name it, they’ve been there. Donna could have gone with them, but she wanted to stay home and ‘study’. Which was really to have parties every Saturday.

They walked in and the maids took their shopping bags, and they took the elevator to Donna’s room; on the 3rd floor. Yes, the house has an elevator. When they got to Courtney’s giant room, they sat down on the bed and gossiped.

Dani walked into the alley. She had received a  text from anonymous saying to meet her there. It was a weird place to meet, but she had her trusty pocket knife. She looked around the dark alley, it’s trashy smell was enough to make anyone puke. She wondered why they wanted to meet her there.

As she leaned against the wall waiting for them, she couldn’t help but watch the couple sitting on the bench in front of the alley. They looked about her age, they were laughing, holding hands. She remembered her and her last boyfriend, Eric. Her eyes watered, but she wiped them, no one ever saw Dani cry.

A figure came into view, walking towards her. A white cloth was suddenly on her mouth, and she was breathing in the fumes. She struggled, trying to get it off her. She heard a familiar voice, but couldn’t make out the words, her vision was growing blurrier by the second. Soon she was encased in darkness.

Ashley walked down the street, looking at the ground. People were looking at her, just staring. The sun felt extra hot on her back, her hands were sweating. She didn’t like all this attention. She tried to keep a low profile, but no. She had to be at the crime scene and everything.

Ashley’s phone chimed and she looked at it. She stopped in her tracks as her blood ran cold.

Jade had just left for her daily run when her phone chimed. New text message from: Dani Duncan. She opened the text. It said Meet me at the graveyard.

Jade was confused why Dani had asked her to meet her at the graveyard, but she went anyway.

When she got there, Dani was not there. Weird, she thought. A hand suddenly clamped on her arm. Jade whipped around, she tried to scream but a hand clamped on her mouth. There was a person in a black sweatshirt, and it was too dark to make out the face. They dragged her into a van, and put a cloth to her mouth. She was soon in complete darkness.

Nikki was at the mall when her phone rang. The caller ID said Ashley Connors. So, she declined the call.

Nikki was walking out to her car, her hands full of bags, when her phone rang for the twentieth time. Nikki threw her bags into the trunk and answered her phone.

“Jeez! What is so important you have to call me twenty freaking times?”

“Oh, I’m sorry! I guess you don’t care that our friends are being freaking held captive! So excuse me!” Ashley said in a voice angrier than she had ever heard. Nikki was taken back by Ashley’s voice.

“What?” Nikki asked her, not angry anymore. Ashley sighed. “Just meet me at the coffee house around the corner from the mall.”

When Jade woke up, her arms and legs were tied together, her hands behind her back. She looked around and saw Dani.

“You’re awake.” Dani said. “Yeah, I am.” Jade said, still looking around the dimly lit grey room.

Jade swallowed, “Where are we?” Dani shook her head. “I don’t know.”

“Aw, so you’re both awake.” A clearly disguised voice said, coming from nowhere. Dani and Jade looked around. “What do you want?” Dani asked.

“Well, if I told you, it wouldn’t be as fun. Now would it?” The voice answered. “And I have someone knew for you to play with.”

A door opened and they threw in Courtney. Her arms and legs bound just as Dani and Jade’s were. She was struggling to break free.

“Let me out you assholes!” She yelled. “Oh, hi Jade. Hi Dani.”

“Uh. Hi.” They both said.
