Chapter 8~

“You see, I was severely injured, when Courtney here found me after you had left me to die. She took me to a cabin and nursed me back to health.” Eric explained.

Courtney smirked and said, “You all never expected anything from me. I played as the dumb one. It was so easy to fool you all.”

Jade was the one to speak first. “So, you were never really our friend?” Courtney just looked at her. “I was at first but then I met Eric.” She looked up at Eric, and Dani felt her stomach go in knots.

“What did you do to Ashley?” Nikki asked them, pretty angry. “We did nothing to her, it’s her body starting to shut down.” Courtney answered.

“Why is her body shutting down?” Jade asked. “Because she hasn’t eaten in a few days. She used to be anorexic and she was hospitalized. She has to eat at least every other day or else her body shuts down.” Eric answered.

“How do you even know that?” Dani spoke.

“I have sources.”

“Let’s just leave guys.” Nikki whispered, and they all tried to push past Eric and Courtney. But Eric stopped them.

“Hey, hey, hey. Where do you think you’re going? You’re not going anywhere.” He smiled.

“Just let us through, Eric.” Nikki said. “I’m sorry. that’s not going to happen” Courtney said.

Dani was getting fed up with all of their bullcrap. “Move crap bags.” She said, punching Eric in the gut and kneeing Courtney in her stomach. They both dropped to the ground. Dani saw the gun in Eric’s pocket and she grabbed it.

She held the gun pointing towards Eric.

“Run, now!” She said to Jade and Nikki. They both ran, looking for an exit.

When Eric and Courtney finally stood Dani held the gun at Eric. “You know, when I thought you were dead, I was heartbroken and sad. But now when I look at you, all I feel is pure hatred. And you, Courtney. I used to look at you so much differently. But now all I see is nothing but someone who cares only about herself. And you know what? I hate people who are fake and conceited.”

Dani took a step towards Courtney. “But most of all I hate backstabbing bitches.” The gun went off, making a sound so loud Dani’s ears rang for a moment before she turned to Eric, who was looking a Courtney’s now dead body on the ground.

“And Eric. Poor sweet innocent Eric. I truly never thought you really died. There was always a part of me that thought you were still alive out there somewhere. And it was right. But when I left you to die, you should have died.”

“B-but, I loved you, Dani.” Eric tried to plead for his life. Dani walked towards him.

“I know that sweetheart. But when people are left to die, they die.” Another gun shot, but this one broke her heart all over again. She had killed her ex-boyfriend who should have died when he was hit by a train.

Jade had been worrying before Dani came out, clearly shaken. They both tried to get her to speak, but the only thing on Dani’s mind was getting Ashley to the hospital.

They didn’t ask questions, but took Ashley to the hospital.
