"Ok." I answered, watching her glance up at me with an are-you-dumb expression.
"Ok? Is that it? I'm talking about THE Minnie Walters and all you've got to say is ok?" She shrieked, throwing her hands into the air.
"Umm...ye-no?" I stuttered, as she sent me the look.
She gave me that look that made me think otherwise. You know the look your mum gives you, the don't-you-even-think-about-finishing-that-sentence one?
Yeah, that one. Lucy gave me it so I didn't really have any option than to say no.
"Exactly. Anyways Minnie was one of the most popular girls at our school. She was literally the 'it' girl. She was so popular I'm sure people all the way in Australia knew her!" Lucy explained, taking another sip from her Coke.
People in Australia? Weird combination.
I nodded gesturing for her to continue.
"She was a really nice girl. She was popular, rich, pretty, smart- she was everything you could ever dream of. It's weird to think her and Chantelle were best friends, especially with Chantelle having the complete opposite personality. I guess opposites do attract." She explained, mumbling the last part.
"So what has that got to do with the dress?" I asked impatiently, popping a chip in my mouth.
Lucy glanced around the room once again, multiple times. She released a little cough before continuing.
"Minnie wore that dress to the Winter Dance the year just before you came, and she looked beautiful. I can remember the hopeful look the guys gave her but there was only one guy she had her eyes on.." Lucy drifted off, taking a small peek at my reaction.
Please, not him. Please, not him. God, I beg you don't make it be him.
"It was Kyle." She mumbled, stirring her coke with the white and red coloured straw "I can stop now if you want..?"
"No! Please, I want to know." I pleaded, watching Lucy release a heavy sigh.
"So yeah, they were a couple. They were together for two years, which is surprising considering Kyle's current reputation." Lucy babbled to herself "But anyways, Kyle asked Minnie to the Winter Dance, which was no surprise. They were the schools it couple. Every boy wanted to be Kyle and every girl wanted to be Minnie. "
Well, Minnie's obviously no longer here so where is she?
"Where is she now?" I asked, voicing my thoughts.
Lucy gagged slightly as she took a bite from her burger, looking around McDonald's again nervously.
"I-we-Kyle... I can't say anything. Well I can, but unless you want to see me alive tomorrow, you better stop asking questions." Lucy mumbled, wiping her mouth.
"Please, Lucyyy! You can't just stop there! I mean you were in the middle of an interesting story. And I'm too interested in what you have to say, please don't stop there. Luce!" I babbled, using hand gestures.
