Last lesson and then I have to get home as soon as possible to get ready for the Winter Dance. This is the event the whole school has been waiting for. It's even bigger than prom. Weird, I know.

"Please remember to finish reading Jane Eyre after the holidays. Oh and have fun at the Winter Dance tonight. All tickets are being sold at this very moment so if you haven't got one, I would suggest you get one straight after this lesson." My English teacher explained, gesturing for us to pack up.

The chairs scraped against the floor and the sound of school equipment being clinked together filled the classroom.

"See you after the holidays class. You are dismissed."

Everyone pushed through the door, pushing and shoving to get out.

When I finally escaped I rushed to my locker as that was where I was supposed to meet Lucy. As my locker came into view, I noticed a brunette already leaning against my locker.

"Hey Luce!" I called, approaching her.

"Hey S, I'll meet you at your house in like an hour cause my mum wants me at home to do some quick chores." Lucy explained all in one breath, giving me a quick hug.

"Bye Luce." I called, watching Mark come out from another classroom, slinging his arm across her shoulders.

They shared a quick kiss before disappearing into the crowd.

"Hey S." Kyle greeted, leaning against my locker.

Everyone's popping up around me, huh?

"Hey Kyle." I greeted back, shoving his shoulder slightly to enter my locker with a smile.

"So are you excited bout the Winter Dance?" I asked, wanting to avoid awkward silence.

I noticed his body tense beside me, I therefore turned to face him.

"Are you ok?" I mumbled, lightly placing my hand on his shoulder.

"Umm..yeah. See you there, right?" Kyle muttered, releasing a small cough at the start.

"You're coming?" I grinned, excitement bubbling up inside me.

"Umm, I don't know. Maybe." He replied uncomfortably, pushing himself of the lockers.

I grabbed his hand before saying quietly "I hope you come."

He examined my face for quite a long period of time before nodding silently and walking off.

"I really hope you come." I mumbled to myself, watching him push his way roughly through the crowd.

"Lucy my dress is gone!" I yelled over the phone, checking under my bed and thereafter my desk chair.

"It's what?!" Lucy yelled back, probably worrying.

"You heard me. I put it on the desk chair when we left for the nail parlour and when you left for your date with Mark I ate dinner and fell asleep straight after." I explained hurriedly, frantically searching my room.

"Well ask your sister or your brother if they took it or if anyone's been in your room recently!" Lucy huffed, probably running a hand through her hair.
