MERRY CHRISTMAS
Non-edited
I let my legs dangle from the edge of my bed, my arms spread out above my head.
"Do you think Kyle's coming to the Winter Dance?" I asked Lucy out of the blue, tilting my head to the side.
Her head shot up quickly "Why would you ask that question?"
"You mean why wouldn't I be asking that question?" I replied sassily, watching Lucy return her concentration back to her nails.
"Well, he-the dance- well...maybe." Lucy stuttered, making sure to keep her head down.
"Lucy. You told me at the mall that I should get a dress to show off to him at the dance. Why would you tell me to do that if he wouldn't be coming?" I groaned, sitting up to see her reaction.
"Well, for the past two years he hasn't come to the Winter dance, that's also two years since Minnie dissapeared. Those two years, he came up with an excuse that he's either sick or just busy, however everyone knows that it's really because of the fact that the last place he saw Minnie was at the Winter dance. Oh and the reason I said you should get a 'dress to impress' was because there's always a chance that he'll come. It really depends on wheather he feels like he's ready to go or not." Lucy explained, keeping her eyes focused n her nails.
"Oh." Was all I could muster out.
So he misses Minnie...still?
Obviously he misses Minnie. He loved her, you dipshit.
"But, you shouldn't be worrying about that right now because tomorrow is the Winter Dance!" Lucy squealed, glancing in my direction.
"Yay! Because I am so exited to enter the Winter Dance with my boy best friend as a date." I muttered, dropping my head back down to the pillow.
"Don't be such a buzzkill. At least you'll be telling him how you really feel about him." Lucy mumbled back, examining her fingers.
"Yeah, I guess. But I'm worried about his reaction." I sighed, turning to my side.
"I'm sure he'll understand, S." Lucy smiled, wiggling her fingers at me "What do you think? Would it go with my dress?"
I nodded in approval. "Yeah, the colour almost matches your dress exactly."
"Good. Now what about you?" Lucy asked, blowing on her fingernails.
"Well, since you made me buy my second choice, I'm thinking either blue, silver or white." I mumbled, watching her give me a 'don't start that again' look.
"Well let me see your dress again." Lucy demanded, gesturing for me to get it.
I slowly stood up, walking to my closet. I ran my fingers across the black cover up before gently picking it up and placing it on my bed. I unzipped the black cover up and took the dress out.
"Is it possible for it to look even prettier now?" Lucy asked, dazed by the dress.
"Err Luce, close your mouth. It could catch flies." I laughed, watching Lucy gesture for me to come over to her.
She held up different nail polishes to the dress, trying to pick the colour that would be the best match.
"Ok so I think you should choose between white and this colour blue." Lucy said, pointing to the two colours "Or we can quickly go to the nail parlour to get them to do a nice blue design on top of the white, which will be your base?"
