First thing's first. I needed to find the beacon.

I dove into the giant pile of clothing and started searching. About an hour later, I finally was about to just gave up. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw something glistening. I turned my head upward to see a small glowing beacon.

I stood on my tip toes to reach it. The shelf was high! I felt around a little till my hands touched a small platelet. I grabbed it and pulled it down so I could see it.

The beacon was small and crystal/dimond shaped, and I couldn't shake the feeling I had seen it before. It was ruby red with dark purple patches every now and then around it. I was just about to set it on my bed when guards walked in with Ms. Lae.

"Well!" Ms. Lae said, staring at me with wide eyes. "I see you found the beacon. We'll take care of that now. Your task for tonight is complete." She took the beacon from my hand and walked out.

I had no idea why, but something made me want to keep it. Probably against the rules, though. I had decided that I was exhausted, even though it was only 7:45. I put on some silky pajamas and crawled into my bed.
