Natalia sighed heavily as Anna sat in the crisp, white patients room of the sports complex medical center, while Natalia swung her feet from the patient's table.

"Are they even equipped to do this kind of thing," Natalia whispered to Anna who shushed her. Cat disappeared with a Nurse, speaking in broken Portuguese as soon as they got there much to Natalia's further annoyance.

"Ok," Cat said walking in with a medical kit, and a nurse, "We have half an hour to run whatever we want."

"How did you--?" Natalia began, her eyes wide.

"Shush," Cat said washing her hands, while Anna looked on approvingly.

Cat snapped on a pair of white latex gloves

"You're going to—"

"Natalia Klein, shut up and give me your arm," Cat said impatiently, holding out the tourniquet.

Natalia pouted and held out her arm. She let her friend stick her for a few seconds with the needle in the crook of her elbow before detaching the vial of blood and handing it to the nurse.

"Why did we just do a blood test?" Natalia asked pressing gauze to her arm, before Cat helped her put on a band aid.

"What if its mono?" Anna asked shrugging her shoulders like it was the most normal thing in the world.

"And you have me worried sick out of my mind that I'm pregnant?" Natalia said looking between them

"Darling, you could be," Cat said helping her off of the table and moving to walk out of the clinic.

"What if I am?" Natalia said thoughtfully, "Imagine me telling my parents I'm pregnant and considering moving back to Munich."

"Well that might make the news more logical. What?" she said faced with the confused faces of Cat and Natalia as they walked away, "Of course she would move back to Munich if she's pregnant. You can't raise Thomas' child away from him."

Natalia fell silent as they walked back to the hotel, with the promise of a phone call within 24 hours.

"What do I tell him?" Natalia said stopping short before they walked into the lobby.

"Don't tell him anything," Cat said hooking arms with Natalia.

"He'll know I'm hiding something," Natalia protested, "I can't lie to him."

"So we'll have a sleepover. Come over to my room after you grab pajamas," Cat said to both of the girls, who nodded in approval.

"What should we have for dinner," Anna said wrapped in a hotel bathrobe, her hair in an unflattering bun on top of her head, "How does pizza sound?"

Natalia felt her stomach turn at the mention of solid food, "How about one of your shakes, Anna?" she suggested pointing at her gut and wrapping her own hair into a bun.

Anna shook her head with a smile, "Okay, so a shake for Miss 'I'm not pregnant' over there. Cat, pizza?" she said asking the blonde, who was now clad in sweatpants and a long sleeved t-shirt.

"Yes, pizza! And maybe cake too?" Cat chattered, picking up the phone to call room service.

After consuming their weight in food, the girls fell asleep in various positions in Cat's room. Natalia finally felt her stomach loosen and relax after consuming Anna's mixed drink, and she fell asleep feeling refreshed for the first time since coming to Germany.

In the morning she awoke to Cat shaking her awake, holding her phone to the side of her face.

"It's the lab," she whispered, poking Anna as well, who shot up. She put the phone on speaker and a crackly voice in broken English told her that Natalia's white blood cell count was elevated, and it indeed looked like she was fighting a small cold. The girls gathered around the phone, and Natalia smirked at Anna who shrugged.

"And your human chorionic gonadotrophin levels are very high, indicating that you are pregnant," Natalia heard the voice say before she felt her legs grow weak and sitting down at the edge of her bed.

Natalia heard her heart beat rapidly in her ears as Cat thanked the woman in broken Portuguese and hang up the phone.

She took several deep breaths, as Anna sat next to her and held her hand tightly.

"You can do this, Natalia." She said quietly, "You are the strongest person I know."

Natalia blinked several times, and then felt an overwhelming sense of joy grow in her chest.

"I'm pregnant," she whispered letting a small smile grow across her face, "I'm going to have a baby."

Cat wrapped her arms around her friends' shoulders.

"I mean, I'm already a mother, but another child?" Natalia said looking between her friends who looked relieved that she was reacting so well.

Natalia lay back down on the bed, and explored the feeling that now ran throughout her body, racing through her bloodstream to her toes, and to her fingers. She had a chance at an actual family, a life with Thomas and Jamie, a family. The word felt so foreign, even just in her head.

"I have to tell Thomas," she said sitting up finally.

Cat wrapped her arms around her awkwardly as Natalia struggled to put on her shoes.

"Good luck, darling," Anna said squeezing her arm, as she headed towards the door.

"Thank you guys, for being with me through all of this," Natalia said happily, "I love you."

"Love you too doll, now go!" Anna said loudly causing Natalia to giggle and jog away, only slowing down when she felt her stomach tighten up.
