Draco was sitting next to Hermione’s bed with Ginny. It had been a few days ago that Hermione had squeezed his hand and he couldn’t handle it any longer without a sign of progress. Nobody of the nurses really believed him, they just said they did so he wouldn’t shout at them.
‘I didn’t imagine it!’ He had shouted at the nurse who told him it could’ve been his imagination that was playing with me.
Draco sighed.
‘Stop thinking.’ Ginny said.
Draco looked up at Ginny.
‘I know it’s hard, but I believe you and who cares what other people think?’ Ginny said.
‘You’re right.’ Draco said.
‘I don’t give a damn about them.’ Draco said.
‘That sounded convincing.’ Ginny said sarcastically.
‘Weasley.’ Draco said punching her jokingly on the arm.
‘Malfoy!’ Ginny said smirking.
‘Oh shut up.’ Draco said laughing.
He looked back at Hermione and saw the corners of her lips curling slightly up.
‘GINNY! LOOK!’ Draco said pointing at Hermione.
Ginny turned her head and looked at Hermione.
‘What’s wrong?’ She asked looking back.
‘Are you kidding me?’ Draco said standing up and touching Hermione’s face.
‘She smiled a bit.’ Draco said.
‘When?’ Ginny asked.
‘Right at the moment when I shouted your name.’ Draco said.
‘I didn’t see it.’ Ginny said.
‘Hermione do it again, move something.’ Draco encouraged.
No response.
‘Please Mione, show your smile again.’ Draco begged.
‘I was just too late with looking.’ Ginny said.
Draco took in a deep breath and held it a few seconds before breathing it out again.
‘She really smiled.’ Draco sighed.
‘I believe you.’ Ginny said.
Draco turned around and looked at Ginny.
‘I believe you.’ Ginny said again.
Draco nodded lightly.
‘Come.’ Ginny said.
‘Where too?’ Draco asked.
‘Hogwarts, we’ll come back later.’ Ginny said.
She grabbed his arm softly and pulled him slowly away from Hermione.
‘Come on.’ She said.
Draco nodded and walked with Ginny out of the room.Hermione’s POV:
I was laying on the grass looking up at the bright blue sky above me. I had heard Draco and Ginny talking and now it had been silence for a pretty long while. Where they gone?
‘Stop thinking.’ Ginny said.
‘I know it’s hard, but I believe you and who cares what other people think?’ Ginny said.
‘What do you believe?’ I asked, though I knew I wouldn’t get an answer.
‘You’re right.’ Draco said.
‘She’s right about what?’ I asked.
‘I don’t give a damn about them.’ Draco said.
‘You don’t give a damn about wha- Oh never mind.’ I said giving up.
‘That sounded convincing.’ Ginny said sarcastically.
‘Weasley.’ Draco said.
‘Malfoy!’ Ginny said.
‘Oh shut up.’ Draco said laughing.
I widened my eyes and got a huge smile on my face. I hadn’t heard his laugh in ages! This was the first time since I’ve been here in this strange world and him hearing laugh just makes me so happy.
‘GINNY! LOOK!’ Draco said out of the sudden he startled me with that.
‘What’s wrong?’ She asked.
‘Are you kidding me?’ Draco said.
I don’t know what he did, but my cheek and forehead started to tickle a bit, as if someone was touching it lightly.
‘She smiled a bit.’ Draco said.
‘A bit?’ I laughed.
‘When?’ Ginny asked.
‘Right at the moment when I shouted your name.’ Draco said.
‘I didn’t see it.’ Ginny said.
‘Hermione do it again, move something.’ Draco encouraged.
‘Dude what are you talking about, I’m moving all the time, go get some glasses.’ I said kicking with my feet in the air and moving my arms.
‘Please Mione, show your smile again.’ Draco begged.
‘I am moving!’ I said.
‘I was just too late with looking.’ Ginny said.
‘She really smiled.’ Draco sighed.
‘I believe you.’ Ginny said.
There was a silence.
‘I believe you.’ Ginny said again.
‘Come.’ Ginny said.
‘Where too?’ Draco and I asked at the same time as I stopped with my spastic moves immediately.
‘Hogwarts, we’ll come back later.’ Ginny said.
‘NO, NO, NO! DON’T GO!’ I shouted.
‘Come on.’ She said.
‘GUYS! DON’T LEAVE ME ALONE AGAIN! PLEASE JUST STAY!’ I begged.
‘Draco?’ I said.
And then it was silence for a long time.
‘Great and I’m alone again.’ I said.
I sighed and got up. I was getting really sick of not doing anything. I was so bored and the only moments when I wasn’t bored, people were begging me to wake up and I had no idea about what they were talking. It was driving me nuts. Why weren’t here any books? Then I could read.
Then out of the sudden a bookshelf appeared next to me on the grass. I lifted my head up and looked at it.
Where did that come from?
I stood up and stepped in front of the bookshelf. I saw that all the books that were in there I had already read. I didn’t care, I had at least something to do now. I packed a book from the shelf and sat down on the grass. I opened the book and started to read.
‘I don’t know about that boy, but I doubt she’ll ever wake up or make progress.’ A woman’s voice sounded out of nowhere.
‘Excuse me?’ I said looking up at the sky.
‘I doubt it too. She hasn’t made any progress in months.’ Another woman said.
‘Maybe we need to make an end on it, you know suggesting it to her parents.’ The first woman said.
‘WHAT?’ I said shocked.
‘We can suggest it after talking to the others.’ The second woman said.
‘Yes indeed, that’s a good idea.’ The first one said.
‘I don’t think so!’ I said.
‘Maybe we need to get that boy to a madhouse.’ The second one said laughing.
‘Great idea, he’s getting nuts.’ The first one said laughing.
‘NOBODY TALKS ABOUT MY BOYFRIEND LIKE THAT!’ I shouted at the sky.
‘Are they nuts?’ I asked angry.
Those two nurses had made me so angry, I’ve never been so angry in my life before. First wanting to end my life, as I’m still here and second of all talking about my boyfriend like that. I calmed myself down and laid back on the grass reading further in the book. When I finished it I put it back in the bookshelf and got another book.
“…. she closed her eyes, said a few last things, though I couldn’t hear them and then she was gone.” I read and then it hit me.
‘Wait a second.’ I said sitting up.
‘Did they say “make an end on it”?’ I said.
I widened my eyes and gasped, putting my hand in front of my mouth.
‘And end on what?’ I asked softly, though I knew the answer.
‘And e-end o-on my li-life….’ I gasped softly.
‘No, no, no I’m not dead! I’m here! I’M RIGHT HERE!’ I shouted.
‘I DON’T WANT TO DIE! I’M TOO YOUNG TO DIE! PLEASE DON’T END MY LIFE.’ I shouted and I was now standing, the tears were rolling down my cheeks.
‘PLEASE I’M NOT READY YET TO DIE!’ I shouted.
‘No, no, no, no, no.’ I cried and I let myself fall on the ground on my knees.
‘Please, please, please.’ I begged softly sobbing in my hands.
After a few minutes I stopped sobbing and had calmed myself down.
‘I’m not going to die, pull yourself together Hermione.’ I said to myself.
I laid back on the grass and looked with tears still rolling over my cheeks at the sky. I became tired after a few seconds, and that was the first time since I’ve been in this weird world. My eyelids slowly fell down and I fell in a deep slumber.A/N:
What? They want to end Hermione's life! Are they nuts? She's still there, isn't she? Or has she already passed on? Is she maybe in what people call Heaven? Is that the strange world she has been in the months she has been in "coma"? Has her spirit already given up on her body that is still kept alive by the nurses and doctors in St. Mungo's?
Questions, questions and the only thing you can do is guess and hope for the best, or worse whatever you want :p
