Chapter 17: The bridge meeting; my demise

Kakashi's POV <3

"Please take good care of Naruto today. He used his body to the max so I think he shouldn't be able to move today." I told Tsunami, Inari's mother, "Also, If Madeline comes back, tell her we're at the bridge. Thanks." I nodded. That girl has been very mysterious lately, going off to train for a few days and all. Though I trust her as she's a good ninja and can 'tell the future', I still have that tingling bit of worry. "Kakashi-San, is your body feeling well now?" Tsunami asked me, noticing that I am without either of the crutches. "Yes, somehow..." I chuckled a bit. "Yes! Well, we better get going to finish up that bridge." Tazuna said happily. "Of course! Take care all!" She waved us off.

I stared at all the unconscious workers laying on the floor. 'No, it can't be...' I thought to myself as a mysterious mist enveloped us. 'This mist!' I gasped, "Sasuke, Sakura he's coming!" I warned them as they got into their fighting stances. 'So, he's still alive...' I thought, as my eyes roamed about, 'And he's decided to show himself already...'

"Kakashi Sensei! This is the mist concealment technique, right?" The brains of this team , Sakura, asked me. "Sorry to keep you waiting, Kakashi..." a voice echoed around us, "And your still carrying those kids...2 of them anyway..." couldn't Madeline appear now to help us? Unless she's in trouble or knows that we'll pull through this... Heck, I just recovered!

Ashley's POV

"You know the plan?" I asked Haku and Zabuza who nodded their heads. They were pretty eager to listen and they didn't argue about what I had said. I hope it goes according to plan. "Remember what I said," I looked at them and Haku just smiled. "Sure will kid..." Zabuza responded as he looked up to the bridge, "You sure your okay with fighting your teammates?" Zabuza asked me. I nodded briefly before saying, "Shh... I can sense they're presences..." Zabuza did some hand signs and the mist thickened. Haku wore his mask. I nodded, "Let's go."

"Heh heh heh... This'll be fun..." Zabuza smiled devilishly. I glared at him sternly, "The plan!" I reminded him. "Yeah yeah whatever kid..." He replied which made me smile. That's Zabuza alright! We jumped silently onto the platform, the mist hiding us. "Sorry to keep you waiting... Kakashi," Zabuza started to talk to Kakashi Sensei and I smirked. After a few more sentences, Zabuza formed more handsigns and clones appeared all around them, Haku glanced at me wondering if i would do anything,I just shook my head.

"I'm shaking... with excitement!" Sasuke declared and after the permission from Kakashi was issued, the water clones disappeared in the speed of light. "Oh? He can defeat the water clones. The boy has grown." Zabuza mused as the 3 of us stepped out from the mist. "A rival has appeared for you, Haku, Ashley." Zabuza continued. Haku nodded behind that mask, "Seems so, Zabuza San..." I smirked as I pulled out the samurai sword Zabuza gave me, "He's been my rival from the start, Zabuza Sensei." I grinned. "Maddy!! You're with them?!" Sakura asked me, horror on her face. "Traitor!!" Sasuke spat, his eyes darkened and he growled at me, I bared my teeth and growled back. I expected an exclaim from Kakashi but non came. All he did was look at me quizzically.

I felt Zabuza and Haku's Chakra spike. "You should be thankful to her instead of calling her all that! She joined us in return for your lives! Ungrateful brats!" Zabuza spat at them angrily. I smiled slightly at his protectiveness of me. Well, what can I say? During these times I guess I can count on Zabuza to help me^^.

Sakura looked around fearfully,"We were gonna lose?" She asked to no one in particular though, I bet she was talking to me. "Maybe. This is merely a precaution. I don't know what my being here has affected or changed so take this as a precautionary measure." I replied in a monotone harder than Sasuke's. Sasuke's eyes widened slightly in shock. "Enough of this," Zabuza said gently but firmly,"We have the first advantage! Go!" As soon as he said that, the 3 of us sped off to our own fights. Haku to Sasuke, I to Kakashi and Zabuza to Tazuna and Sakura. I wasn't worried about that becuase I knew I could trust Zabuza.
