Chapter 30 : And you are?

???? POV

I run around the underground hideout for search of something fun to do. I run to the area where master keeps his prisoners - or test subjects- whatever he wanted to call them.

I strolled down the dimly lit corridor, screams of pain or hatred came from every side. I dodged the grabbing hands of the prisoners and turned a few more corners before I came to a room that had no screams of whatever.

I stood right at the door. "Hey, are you sleeping? Wake up." I say gruffly. A small pause.

Out of nowhere, a loud blast echoed through the hallways. "You're no fun, Takeda." A small whine was heard from inside and I rolled my eyes,"You never flinch."

A pair of yellow eyes came to the small hole in the door where their 'food' normally gets inserted. I bend down and look the eyes straight into them. I sigh as I throw an apple into the room causing the prisoner to squeal in delight.

"Sho, yu arrr *swallows* bored?"

I sigh as I lean my back against the door and sit on the floor.

"Let me out , I'll play with you."

"Master doesn't allow that."

"Last I heard, he isn't around, is he?" She states in a matter-of-fact tone.

Rumours spread fast here. Especially with the prisoners screaming, they knew the latest happenings amongst themselves. Like who was the one who was tested the last and what happened to this guy who disappeared... Yada yada.

Sometimes even I sit one corner, oblivious to them, and eavesdrop.

"Some... promotion exam, right? And that medic guy went with him." She continued.

"Talk softer Seiko." I murmur.

"I love this apple, finally some food not rotten."

Out of all the prisoners here, she's the one I wouldn't mind spending time with. She isn't some psycho like the rest.

"Hey..." Seiko's voice softens to a scared little whine, " He won't be back any time soon.... right? "

Master left a while ago. He shouldnt be back anytime soon. That news alone made the prisoners cheer and celebrate for joy...

"He won't." I tell her as I hear a small sigh of relief.

"Do you have any more of that Apple?" She asks me. I toss in another apple and she catches it gratefully. I peep into her cell.

"You know... I like your eyes. They're scary... but nice. It's very contrasting to the darkness." She compliments. I shrug. My eye colour never bothered me.

"Yours contrasts to the dark too. Since they're yellow and all."

"But yours are bright red! It's so cool how they turn purple naturally when you use your kekkei genkai... no wonder that freak likes you so much..." She mumbles.

I bite into my own apple.

"Why didn't you follow him?"

"What?"

"Why didn't you follow him? I know you're bored here."

She repeated again. Thoughts flashed through my mind. I remember clenching my knuckles so tightly that they became pale white.

"... remember the plan." I overhear master,"We leave at dawn."

I stroll into the room and I see the smile on my masters face, "Ahh , Tenshin. Here you are." And the scowl on the nerd's face,"Why are you here, brat?"

"Where are you going? What about my training like you promised?" I question him.

"Ah, about that. We have had something come up and we're gonna pay a little trip to the chuunin exams in Konoha."

"The village in the leaf?"

"Yes. Your training will resume when we return. In fact... shortly afterwards you might even have a training partner bout your age."

"Can I come with?"

"... no."

I see a smirk on the nerd's face before using my power to throw a small rock at his head.

It hits him and he rubs his head saying," you'd be nothing without your powers. "

I ignore him.

"Why can't I go?"

No response.

"Why can't I go?" I ask again with more aggression, clenching my fists.

#flashback#

"He didn't allow me to." I reply.

"Ha, since when have you listened to orders from him." Seiko comments,"What are you planning to do anyway? You always come and see me before you do something you're not allowed to."

Thoughts ran through my mind.

"I'm leaving to follow them and you're coming with me."
