James shoved his hands into the pockets on his jumper. He felt much more relaxed now that Kylie was gone. As he sat on his bed, he remembered why he got involved with her in the first place.

James walked by himself for a while, not knowing where he was going. He couldn't stop thinking about the girl from the day before, and how she'd been rude and flirty. She'd asked him to meet her again at the same place. He hadn't really intended to go, but before he knew it, he was in front of that place. Unfortunately, before he could run away and pretend he never went there, Kylie saw him and winked. He inwardly groaned and dragged himself inside.

"Hey babe," Kylie said, smirking at him when she saw him. James felt like gagging. When Lily called him that as a joke, he felt butterflies flying around his stomach. However, hearing Kylie say it made him want to throw up.

"Don't call me that."

'It's disgusting,' he wanted to add.

She walked closer to him and threw her arms around his neck.

"I can call you whatever I want." she said. Her voice sounded angry more than flirty.

"What do you want from me?" James asked.

"I want us to be together."

James was feeling queasier by the second.

"Why would I do that?!"

He tried to remove her arms, but she had a firm grip.

"Because, if you don't, your little girlfriend suffers."

On that note, Kylie let go of him and walked away.

James put his face in his hands. He remembered that he had ignored Kylie. Everything was fine for a while, but then he started to notice that Lily showed up to school covered in bruises. Her eyes were always streaked with red, and her face was always wet and red from crying. He'd asked her what was wrong several times, but she didn't seem to want to tell him anything anymore. A few days later, he surrendered and went to look for Kylie.

"I give up." he muttered once he saw her.

"So you finally accept the fact that we're going to be together?"

"I'd rather deal with you than watch you break her."

Then, Kylie did something James didn't expect. She kissed him. Kylie also made sure that Peter saw, because she knew that the first thing that he would do was tell his friends.

James stood up abruptly and went downstairs.

"Where are you going, James?" his mother asked.

"I need to take a long walk to clear my thoughts," James replied. He walked out the door.

James wasn't sure how, but he ended up at the park he used to go to when he was younger. He sat down on the swings and stayed there for a while. A few minutes later, he heard someone sit on the swing next to his.

"Hey," he heard a familiar voice say.

"Hey Lily." he replied.

The two talked for a while, and somehow Kylie appeared in their conversation.

"I don't think you should be with her," Lily said.

"Why?" James asked, even though he already knew the answer.

"She bothers me." Lily said. She felt guilty for not telling him the real reasons. James' grip on the swing's chains tightened.

"Why won't you tell me anything anymore? We used to tell each other everything! Why won't you just tell me why you don't like Kylie?!" James yelled. He instantly regretted it when he saw the look on her face. Lily's expression hardened.

"You want to know the real reason? Fine. I have feelings for you, idiot! Happy?!"

She stormed off, trying to wipe her tears away.
