"So Evans, will you go out with me?"
Lily coughed and almost spit out her butterbeer. She hastily wiped her mouth and gaped at the boy in front of her.
"You're joking. You've got to be joking."
"I'm serious," he said, grinning.
"That's insane. You're insane. Why would I go out with you?!"
"Think about it, Flower. It'd give your—what do muggles call it—Prince Charming a reason to be jealous." Sirius said, smirking as she blushed.
"I thought you were with Marlene!"
"I'm not. That's another bonus. We can make her jealous, too."
"What is the point of doing this?"
Sirius paused for a moment, thinking of how to phrase his next statement.
"If they see us together, they'll be jealous. I thought you'd want that because you want to be with James. Or are you going to deny that?"
Lily stared at Sirius for a long time before sighing deeply.
"Oh my Godric, I can't believe I'm seriously going to do this."
Lily had to resist the urge to take it back. Sirius winked at her.
"See you tomorrow, love."
Lily buried her face in her hands. What had she done?

Lily never thought she'd get attention because she was dating Sirius Black. She'd had to deal with the whole school staring at them whilst they flirted and held hands. There were even a few wolf whistles. Lily was about to give up at the end of the day when they reached the Gryffindor common room.
"Did you hear?"
"Lily Evans and Sirius Black!"
"She's so lucky."
"I didn't think he went for girls like that."
Lily almost screamed at them that it was all an act, but froze when she saw James stare at them. She sat down on an armchair near Remus and Mary.
"I think I forgot my Potions textbook in the library." Lily said, groaning.
"I'll go get it for you love," Sirius said, smirking. He kissed her cheek and left. It took all of her willpower not to wipe it off with her sleeve.
Mary lifted her head from Remus's shoulder. "So, you and Sirius?"
"Yeah, I suppose." Lily replied, shrugging slightly. She could see James frowning at her from the corner of her eye. Mary leaned in to whisper to Lily.
"I heard that Marlene and James were upset all day. I reckon it's because of you two getting together."
"James was going on about how he missed his chance and how Sirius betrayed him," Remus added. There was a slight grin on his face.
"Remus, want to go study in the library? I think I need to study more in Charms," Mary said a few moments later. Remus nodded.
As they walked away, Lily heard Remus say, "You may have James fooled, but I can see right through your little plan."
