11: What If

(A/N- So this is just something completely random and highly unlikely to happen that came to mind when ThatEvansGirl , ZoeBibliophile , and I started to make some weird story in the comments section. Hope you enjoy!)

Peter and James sat in the common room, sneaking glances at 3 girls sitting on the carpet next to the fire. Well, mostly at one of the girls, Lily Evans. They were both in love with said girl, but James was much more open about it. While James asked her out at least twice a day, Peter had never told anyone how he felt for fear of what James would do to him.

"Hey Lily?" one of the girls, Evangeline, asked. There was a smirk on her face.

"Yeah?" Lily asked absentmindedly.

"Would you rather go out with Peter Pettigrew, Amos Diggory, or Severus Snape?"

Both boys' heads snapped up. Peter turned red at the mention of his name. Lily sighed.

"This is hard, err...I have to say...Peter, even though Amos is really nice. Snape is definitely not an option, since he called me a...you know." Lily mumbled.

~~~A Week Later~~~

Peter walked into the common room and sat next to his three best friends. There was a triumphant grin on his face.

"What happened to you?" James asked.

"You'll never believe what happened. I am now going out with Lily Evans."
James stared at Peter with a mix of surprise and anger.

"What?!" James asked angrily.

"That's right. In your face, Potter! Haha!" Peter taunted.

Sirius laughed so hard that tears rolled down his cheeks. Remus sighed and turned the page of his book. James got up and tried to strangle Peter.
Lily stormed into the common room with Zoe and Evangeline behind her.

"Leave him alone!" she shouted.

"All right Evans?" James asked hastily. He slowly released Peter and blushed slightly.

"No, I'm not, actually."

"You're pretty when you're angry."

"Then I must really be—"

Lily was about to retort when she felt something behind her. When she turned around, she saw Peter cowering in fear.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Sorry Lily, I don't want James to hurt me." Peter said, trying to make himself as small and invisible as possible. Lily sighed.

"I can't have you hiding behind me all the time! Sorry Peter, you're a nice guy, but I think we have to break up." Lily said slowly.

Peter sniffed and ran from the room. A smile grew on James' face, and he relaxed. Evangeline cheered and began to do a weird victory dance. Everyone stared at her. She cleared her throat.

"Sorry," she said sheepishly.

"I know this is a terrible moment to say this, but I have been in love with you for the past 2 years. Lily Evans, will you be my girlfriend?" James blurted.

"Sure." Lily said slowly.

Marlene walked into the common room and sat next to Sirius.

"I knew that Lames would happen," Sirius said, smirking.

"No, it's Jily." Marlene corrected. Sirius rolled his eyes.

James hugged Lily. When she realized what he was doing, she punched him. Then, she felt bad and hugged him back. Zoe squealed and stared at both of them.

"My OTP!" she cried. She then ran away from the common room, leaving everyone confused.

Evangeline hugged everyone and then followed Zoe out of the common room.
