"BOO"
I jumped as I heard someone shout. I turned around to see my bestest friend smiling and giggling.
"I made you jump, didn't I?" Sophie laughed.
"I guess so." I sighed and joined in laughing.
We did our secret handshake and we walked home.
"So, Hollie. Are you free on Friday? I'm having a party and it's gonna be so cool, I've invited the whole of year 9 and Josh is coming!"
She winked at me as I blushed. Josh is the boy I like.
"Well, how can I turn that down?!" I giggled, "I"ll ask my mum, but I will probably be allowed to come."
"Okay then. See you tomorrow!" we hugged and walked our seperate ways.
I almost walked into a lamppost as I was daydreaming about Josh.
"Ahhh!" I cried .
"Hahaha," laughed someone behind me.
I turned around to see the Josh's dark brown eyes looking down at me.
"Watch out," he said,"You don't want a black eye for the party!"
"OMG!" I quickly gasped.
"Umm.. is everything okay?" he asked.
"Oh, yeah..I uh..didn't realise the lamppost was there.. I'll be more careful next time!"
I rushed off dancing, I didn't think anyone like Josh would ever notice me! Let alone talk to me!
I skipped happily up to the front door and swung it open.
"Mum? Dad? Bri?"
Bri is my 5 year old sister, Brianna. She is totally nuts, but I suppose she can be cute sometimes.
"In here sweetie!" Mum called from the kitchen.
I dumped my school bag on the sofa and walked through to the kitchen.
"Hey mum," I said, "What'ya cooking?"
"Well I was cooking some cookies for you, Dad and Brianna but a little someone turned up the temperature on the oven and burnt them all!" she said looking over to my innocent looking sister.
"I didn't do nothing Mummy" Bri cried.
I lifted her up onto my shoulders and ran around the dining table. Brianna was screaming by now.
"Hollie! What have I told you about shoulder rides in the kitchen! Put her down NOW!"
Bri winged as I put her down.
"Again, again, again!" she shouted.
"Not now lil' sis. I have homework to do, oh and mum?"
"What?"
"Can I go to Sophie's party on Friday?"
"Yes, but remember its your father's birthday on Saturday and we are going down to see his parents."
"Ugh, you know I don't like them mum! They don't like me either! They treat me like I'm Brianna's age!"
"Stop being cruel! That's just because you act like your her age."
Mum's jokes aren't always the best but they do make me laugh.
