"Josh," I said.
"What?"
"Did you ever finish that drawing of me?" I asked.
"What drawing?" His voice rose.
"Eh, the one of me," I bowed my head, "Or wasn't I supposed to find that?"
"Look, I don't know what your on about!" He looked me straight in the eye.
I went down on my knees and looked under his bed.
There was no drawing.
"Oh,"
I felt disappointed. I really thought that he drew me, I saw the drawing.
"Anyway, let me go and get us a drink."
Josh walked out of his room and I could hear him walking down the stairs.
A text pinged through to my phone.
You need to get away from Josh's place, Your mum is looking for you and the first place she is looking is at his. Don't come to mine! She's coming here next. Lots of love Soph x
I ran to Brianna's room.
"Brianna?" I called, "Where are you?"
"You looking for your sister?" Jack asked, making me jump.
"Yeah! Do you know where she is? I need to ask her something."
"Why don't you tell me, I'll go tell her if you want."
"No! Where is she?!" I got impatient and pushed past him, but he grabbed my sleeve.
"Get off!" I pulled out of his hold.
"Jeez! She's in my room."
I strutted away from Jack and into his room.
"Brianna, we need to leave," I said switching off the television and picking her up.
"I was watching that!" She said, punching my arm.
"Mum's looking for us and we need to get away now!"
I put her down on the floor and she helped me shove her clothes and toys back into one of my handbags.
Once we had stuffed it to the brim, she dragged it across the landing.
She then helped me pack my clothes and makeup.
"Why are we running away from mummy?" Bri asked.
"She's bad now Brianna," I tried to stay calm.
She helped me drag the bags down the stairs.
"Josh I'm so sorry! I'll text you about it' I just need to leave this town!"
He nodded to me and handed me a £20 note.
"Thank you," I said, giving him a kiss.
"Text me as soon as you find somewhere to sleep."
"I will do,"
Brianna waved goodbye as we left his house.
I knew there was a bus stop just round the corner.
I had my bus pass in my bag somewhere, so I wouldn't have to pay.
But for Brianna, she would cost £2.50.
I got my purse out of my bag and got out some change for the bus fare. I also got out my bus pass and flashed it to the driver.
He nodded to us and I passed him the change.
"For my sister," I said, pointing to Bri.
He handed me back my money and winked at me.
"You need it more than I do, love."
"Thank you so much," I whispered.
"Quick, go and find a seat."
Brianna had already gotten out of my sight.
I knew where she would be.
I climbed the stairs leading to the top level.
There was Brianna pretending to be the bus driver at the front of the bus, whilst old granny's cooed at how cute she looked.
I hurried along the isle and took the seat next to her.
She turned to look at me and smiled.
"It's fun Hollie, just us! It's like an adventure!"
I shushed her as I didn't want anyone else on the bus to be worried and call social services.

When the bus reached the end of the line, we had to get off.
I grabbed both bags and we walked down the stairs.
"I'm hungry Hollie!" "I'm thirsty Hollie!" "I'm tired Hollie!" was all I kept hearing Brianna say.
"Okay! I tell you what, we can go to this cafe," I said pointing to the café next to us, "and get a drink and something to eat."
We entered the shop and Brianna ran up to the counter.
She oohed and ahhed at all of the cakes and finally settled on a chocolate cake with an orange juice.
I chose a Victoria sponge cake with a cup of tea.
"If you want, we can take your bags and put them round the back with us?" The waitress asked.
"Ooh that would be lovely, thank you," I said, trying to act my oldest.
Even though I was only fifteen, my mum always said I looked older.
Whereas Brianna was five and looked about 3.
I handed them our heavy bags.
When I went to sit down, Bri had already eaten her cake and was just finishing her orange juice.
"Can I have your cake Hollie?" She gave me her cute eyes. Again.
"Fine, I'm not that hungry anyway."
I felt sick.
Me and Brianna didn't have a home anymore.
We were runaway children.
We were living on our own, in the big bad world.
