The Bucket List Chapter 5: I was terminal. I was going to die sooner or later, but I hoped it was later. I was weak, vulnerable. I was too sad and shock to cry. But my mom was bawling. I hugged her. She clung onto me for her life. Char was crying to, even the doctor. I grew up with these people. They were like an extended extended family. I let go of my mom. “Can I be released?” This shocked everyone. “Honey I think it’s best if you stay here, rest, you know.” She sniffled. “No mom, I rested her for 18 years, I can’t do it anymore. I want to experience the life that I never had.” Char smiled and nodded so did the doctor. But my mom was the opposite. “No sweety you need to rest.” “I have done enough resting to last a lifetime, mom I am not going to die in a hospital because of cancer, I rather live my life then die with a smile on my face.” “I agree, I mean I known Media pretty much her entire life she should live her life. I would do the same.” Char said. “I am her mother and I know what’s best.” “Maybe but if Media has 2 years to live, she should make her own decisions, she is an adult now, she is 18, she makes her decisions. She makes her mistakes, she learns.” I smiled. “Thanks Char.” “Anything for you.” “I guess your right. When can I check her out?” “Now if you like.” I nodded my head feriously. Char laughed. They discharged me and my mom gave me some clothes. It felt weird put on normal clothes instead of the gown from the hospital. I stepped on the cold floor. I winced. It hurt, but I had to do it. I stepped down from my bed, its like a baby taking its first steps. “How does it feel?” “Weird, but I like it.” “Visit me aye?” “Of course.” “I am going to miss you, you are like my sister.” “Same.” She kissed my bald head and we let go. I held my mom’s hand. Even though I was 18 I still held her hand, I felt safe. The door opened and I felt the warm rays of the sun hit my face as I took my first step into my adventure.
