Aubriella's POV

I woke up to the sound of beeps coming from a machine I looked around my surroundings vigilantly, carefully looking around to find a threat. It was quiet, I didn't hear the sounds of those monsters snarling, that was a first in awhile.
Wires were attached to me as a a needle that was attached to the IV bag was in my arm. I looked down to see they had changed me, somehow I had survive the fall that possibly any human could survive, especially in my state.

There was a knock on the door and it creaked open. I clutched the blankets of the bed, what if they were bad people. In came a woman in a white coat with a name tag of 'Dr.Tran' she was a middle age asian woman. She seemed friendly enough, but looks are deceiving, I learned that the hard way. As I looked at her she softly replied "We aren't going to hurt you don't worry, I'm just going to check up on you."
I allowed her to come check my vitals as she held a flashlight to my eyes making the iris follow her finger.

The door opened again and in came a handsome man. He looked about to be in his early 20s. He glanced over at me and we made eye contact it was as if I was in a trance I couldn't look away.
We stared at each other for what felt like forever until we heard the door close softly that was enough to take me out of my trance as I looked away. He walks over from the door to sit in one out of the two seats that were a few feet from my bed. I looked over at him as he started talking
" I'm Damon and I'm in charge of this place."
We stared at each other for a little longer, he stood up abruptly and walked out of the door leaving me alone in the quiet room.

I tried to sit up, I felt pain erupt from my body as I moved. My body was stiff as a headboard. It took me about 15 minutes to finally get myself sitting up properly. I pushed the soft comforters of the bed off of my body as I tried to get all the wires attached to me off of me. I had pulled out something that caused the heart machine to make a flat beeping sound.
Next thing I know Damon bursted in the room he had looked tense, but as soon as his eyes caught onto mine his body visually relaxed and he took long strides to me and hugged me into him with so much force. He inhaled near my neck as I awkwardly had my hands to my sides. I felt weird little sparks erupt from the areas he was touching me. I looked up to him in surprise as he relaxed from his tense build.

Dr. Tran walked in and calmly pressed a few buttons on the heart machine that made it turn silent. She looked over at me and lectured me that I was to stay in bed for the next week. I looked at her and asked "How long was I out?" She replied 3weeks, it was probably the reason to why my body was so stiff when I tried to get up.

By now Damon was just standing across them room staring over at me. Dr.Tran told me I should rest, but I had just woke up from my long slumber. I didn't feel the need to sleep again I thought.
I laid my head onto the soft plush white pillow, relaxing as I sigh in content. I suddenly wondered what is this place?
How come no one on the outside ever heard of it before?
Questions consumed me that would later be answered by Damon, hopefully.

Looking up at the plain beige walls I looked back at how my life was normal before all of this happened.
I didn't have to worry about finding a place that I can make into a safe base that I could live in for just a couple of days til I refilled my water bottle and found some food to eat and get just a little rest. You'd be shock by the amount of fresh water that has been contaminated by those monsters.

I was constantly moving around. You can't stay in one place for more that 2 wks it's as if they somehow always find you. I'm constantly on the run.
I had ran into some pretty bad and good people after the breakout occurred 1 and a half year ago.

You couldn't do anything without those walkers finding you and coming in as a horde. Once one of them hears you the whole herd comes after hearing it snarl louder. They were all sensitive to smell and sounds. It was difficult out there I tried to find a peaceful area where there was no monsters, but they have seem to invade every crook and nanny or the world.
The last I heard from a surviving group that was also on the move they told me
"You should head south where the cold was at, Antartica."
I would probably freeze to death before I arrived to the facility that apparently hasn't been run over by zombies yet. It would be physically impossible to get there with no equipment at all.

For now I was safe, and that was all I cared about right now.
