Chapter Four

“Gemma turn left here” Ruben yelled quickly “so this place you know, are you sure its safe enough?” Eliza asked him “Yeah its pretty cool to! I have been thinking about it for a while, but I couldn’t get there because we didn’t have a car” Ruben said looking out the front window “so what is it exactly?” She asked trying to read his mind “Laser skirmish” He said smiling “wait so you’re going to start playing laser skirmish!?” She was getting really pissed off at him, he was in a time like this and he wanted to play laser skirmish! “Oh no! Its broken down, so no ones there anymore. I like it because its easy to guard and has heaps of space” Eliza sighed with relief he’s not stupid, thank god “well at least someone has thought ahead” Eliza reached down to take a drink from her water bottle, it had been getting really hot lately.

Ruben was looking at the old skirmish place, there were so many memories from all the parties he had here when he was young “yeah this is it” He jumped out the car and everyone followed. He pushed open the heavy metal door; he used to have trouble pushing it when he was young. He began walking up the stairs until they came to the front office “hmm not to bad! That door would be good to use as a barrier” Audrey said inspecting the place. “Follow me” Ruben called to everyone, He walked into the front of the laser skirmish arena “yeah this is it” He smiled broadly as he looked around, it was like one big maze he loved it. “We should use that as our base” said Gemma pointing up towards a big room that was elevated in the centre of the maze. Everyone began searching around the maze for anything useful, except Eliza who stayed there with him. “Have you been up there before?” Eliza said to him. Eliza was really pretty, He hoped that she would go out with him someday. “Yeah only once though” Ruben said looking around the at the black walls “mind if I take a look?” Eliza asked “go ahead, you should probably take someone with you though just in case” Ruben said looking in her eyes.

Eliza looked back at him “why don’t think I can fight?” She said smiling “well no” he said looking worried, Eliza thought he was amazing looking and she would like to get to know him more “just because you saved me once doesn’t mean anything” She put her arms up around his neck and smiled, luckily he smiled back. “Doesn’t mean you don’t owe me though” He lent in and kissed her, warmth spread through her body, she felt happy to be with him she wanted to be here forever. “Umm did I interrupt something?” Ethan said confused, Eliza stopped quickly and they both let go of each other, she got really angry that he just interrupted them, later on he will pay “no” Eliza said quickly “not at all, we were just talking” Ruben said blushing “yeah, okay sure…” Ethan said trying not to laugh, there was a long awkward silence that went on for a minute “okay im going to go and have a look around, bye” Eliza said ”okay cya later then?” Ruben said still blushing “yeah, sure” Eliza said trying to sound casual while Ethan was in the room.

 

 

She stood at its entrance, it was a big rectangular room with windows looking out into the maze all around the sides, she stepped in and heard dripping, there must be a leak She looked into the room but there was nothing there she banged on the walls to see if it echoed, then she heard the dripping again but realised it was coming from behind her. She turned around to find a massive dog standing there growling with pink puss dripping from it eyes and blood stains around its mouth, she looked around for a weapon but there was nothing there “SOMEBODY HELP!!!” She screamed at the top of her lungs. But this just made the dog angry. It began walking towards her so she turned around and ran for one of the windows, but it was to late the dog pounced on her back so that she was pinned to the ground; she began screaming as she felt its hot breath on her neck. It smelt like rotten meat, She could hear footsteps running around trying to find her. “Eliza!” She heard Ruben yell She felt a sharp pain in her neck she tried to fight back but the dog was to heavy and watched helplessly as her blood puddle around her head, there was anther sharp pain on her back as she felt her own flesh being pulled off “Im coming Eliza!” Gemma yelled from somewhere. It stung like hell, She kept yelling for help but no one could find her, it was to late.

Gemma Ran as fast as she could to find Her “Im Coming Eliza!” She shouted at the top of she lungs. Tears began forming in her eyes, as she ran, please not Eliza! Please, please, please… Gemma had known Eliza since they were four she was like a sister to her, She couldn’t let her die! She couldn’t! She kept running but it was no hope. Then She heard Eliza stop screaming, no! Please no! She began running up the stairs to the base with a knife in her hand and entered the room to find a dog ripping away at Eliza “YOU SON OF A BITCH!” Gemma lunged at the dog and kept stabbing it until it dropped to the ground, she stood up and watched as the deranged dog lie there on the ground still slightly moving.

“Gemma!” She turned around and Found James Red faced and his eyes wide with terror as he looked at the body that lay on the ground, she saw everyone else starting to come in behind James “We were to late, she gone.” Gemma said, she burst into tears and fell to the ground, She shut her eyes trying to keep out what the world had turned into, Ethan Came in and hugged her. She could hear him crying to, Eliza meant the world to them and now she’s gone, who else would go too? James? Ethan? Or maybe even her.
