The Cries

Chapter Thirteen

James woke up with Gemma shaking him “What the hell!?” James yelled at her “get up! They are going to kill us!” Gemma said with her eyes wide open in fear. James jumped out of his bed and ran over to where Jazz was “who’s going to kill us?” James asked her “Im not sure, I don’t know what’s going on” Jazz said biting her bottom lip.

Alene, Brook and Ruben were up front leading the way out of the camp, James was walking behind everyone taking care of the back “Do you guys even know where you’re going?” He shouted up to the front “Nope” Ruben said smiling back at him, Great! They were running away from a camp just because Gemma said that someone was going to kill them and they don’t even know how to get out! They all walked around the edge of the fence and came back to where they had started “umm… I think we have to go through the building” Miffy said staring at the strange building at the end of the camp, James had never noticed it before. It was a tall big bricked house that almost looked like a castle.

They all walked up to the front door, Jessica walked up front and put her ear to the door “no ones there” Jessica whispered “guys we need to hurry up! Im not sure how many times these guys check the cameras!” Gemma said her face completely pale. They all stepped into a big room that had a red stair case going up into an unknown room, Jessica slowly walked up the stairs and nodded “I think its fine” Jessica whispered. James walked up, every step he took creaked under his weight. James was just following behind everyone when suddenly the door shut right in front of his face “Guys who closed the door?” James said nervously “JAMES!” He heard Gemma scream from inside, then he turned around and realised the door they came though had been closed to. He bashed on the door but it didn’t inch one bit “IT’S A TRAP!” Lizzy yelled “Its okay I will get you guys out of there” He said trying to bash down the door “umm James not to alarm you but… YOU’RE THE ONE IN THE TRAP!” Gemma snapped, he turned around to the sound of a loud long hiss. He looked around for any sign of a weapon but there was nothing, he watched as the Mute came towards him with blood flowing from its mouth, he heard everyone bash against the door behind him but he knew it was no use “Don’t try escaping you stupid children because it will just make everything worse!” A voice boomed through the house “If we don’t get you're livers the animals do instead! At least that way we get rid of rebellious pests!” The voice boomed again “Who are you? And what do you want?!” James yelled into the air “Your times up” the voice replied “YOU LEAVE MY BROTHER ALONE YOU ASSHOLE!” Gemma screeched from behind the door, James looked at the Mute that was right in front of him, he was cornered! But he didn’t want to be eaten alive, he was going to dive off the stair case and hopefully that would be a quick death. But could he really kill himself? He walked up to the edge of the railings and looked over the edge, it was a big drop which was sure to kill him “Goodbye everyone!” He said loudly “NOOO JAMES YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIGHT IT DON’T GIVE UP!” Gemma screamed loudly.

Brook heard a loud thump and they knew James had killed himself, She looked at Gemma who had tears pouring out of her eyes “lets keep moving!” She said. They walked through a big purple lounge room that had a plasma tv “what is this place?” Alene asked sickly, they kept moving through long passage ways until they came to a door the size of a wall. Brook went to the front and slowly pushed the door open, when she looked through she saw a Massive jail cell with people around her age or older sitting in it. It would be a really nice room if they didn’t have big bars near all the exits. Brook looked around and noticed nearly all the girls were pregnant “please help us!” One of the girls said running to the bars “What happened?” Brook said holding her cold hand “They use anyone over eighteen to make babies for the spray! They said if we don’t make one baby each year they will put a animal in here!” She said with tears falling down her face, the spray? what was she talking about, and then the voice that said if they didnt get their livers the animals do instead? “that’s pure evil!” Alene spat, Brook looked around for small rack holding all the keys “are these what you want?” Jazz said holding a big key out to her. Brook smiled at her “thanks” She said running up to the jail and opening the lock, Brook stood back as hundreds of teens and adults piled out and began running for the nearest exit out of this horrid place.

Brook followed the big crowd because they seemed to know where to go, they kept walking and walking through big library’s and then into bedrooms. It was a really weird place; she wondered what all the rooms were used for. Finally they came to a big dark hallway with doors all along the side, then Brook saw it! The door was just at the end a of the hallway she had to reach it because she had a feeling that it would be the exit, Gemma and Lizzy ran to the front holding each others hands while their skin was completely pale “What’s wrong guys?” Brook asked them “This is the place! The place someone will die in!” Lizzy said her eyes wide with fear. Everyone stopped moving, Brook looked up from the wooden floor and saw a massive lion that must have been let in. People began panicking and started running back, Brook was glad to see that everyone in their group had stayed back to help fight for the exit. She watched as the Mute got closer to them “3,2,1 charge!” Ruben yelled, everyone sprinted at the Mute. Brook felt weird not having any weapons and only her hands. She watched as everyone jumped at the Mute and smiled as she saw Miffy jumped onto its head and ride it like a horse. Brook ran up and punched the lion straight in its nose, and watched as it cowared to the floor. But then it got agro and rose to its full height, Brook ducked as the lion attempted to pounce on her. She looked behind and realised the lion wasnt aiming at her in the first place, it was aiming at Andrew. She helped Claire fend the Mute away from Andrew but it was no use, he was gone.

Paris couldn’t belive that Andrew was dead! She felt sick deep down in her stomach because she knew that he cared about her because her name was the same as his sisters. She looked at the Mute lying lifeless on the ground. Jessica held her hand as they walked into the next room, it was a big dark room with water dripping everywhere. “Hey look!” Jessica said grinning and pointing at a big green door that had the sign exit over it, Paris began walking towards the door when suddenly she heard something move “Guys theres something else in here!” Paris said completely frozen of fear, Then she saw an eye looking at her in the darkness “RUN!” Claire yelled, and everyone obeyed and ran for their life. She was running behind Jessica at full speed towards the door, Then suddenly Jessica fell flat on her stomach and began getting pulled into the grips of the darkness. Paris dropped onto her knees and grabbed Jessica hands, but what ever was pulling her was a lot stronger than Paris “just go! I don’t want you dying too! Let go of me!” Jessica said pleadingly, Paris slowly let go getting the last glimpse of Jessica as she was pulled off into the darkness. Paris quickly jumped up onto her feet and began running after everyone. They only just reached the exit “hurry up and open the god dam door!” Alene shouted up to the front, Finally the door opened. Paris quickly shaded her eyes from the sun beaming into the darkness of the room, she looked outside at the fresh green grass and the small flowers growing everywhere. She breathed in its fresh air and smiled, they had made it! They were out of the horrible camp.
