Seal It With A Kiss

The next day I woke up I decided not to go to school. Well, Echo decided that but somehow Josh found out we were ditching school again and decided to stay home as well to play x-box. I use to go to his house all the time to play Call Of Duty - Zombies, knowing him that's what he's doing but instead I stayed home and waited for Echo to get here and have ourselves a little girl day.

Now before you start to freak out about how no one knows of Max, yet Echo is coming over...she's actually the only one that knows of him. Being that she is my bestest, best friend and it is really hard to keep a secret from her. Is bestest even a word? It is now in my vocabulary! Anyways, she's good at keeping secrets though, although she didn't know why Max is even my guardian as of now, she doesn't bother to ask. That is once she met Max face to face. Ever since then she was hooked.

The doorbell rang jolting me out of my bed and down the stairs in my pjs.

"Oh! Hey Max! How's it going?" I heard Echo ask flirtatiously. I rolled my eyes and just smirked once I came into eye view. "Claire-bear! You ready for a fun filled day with your bestie?!" She said overly excited. I look over and Max just rolls his eyes but not daring to even look at me, instead he just turns around and walks off back to-where ever he was before. "What crawled his butt and died?" Echo said handing ME her overnight bag. After the dance tonight she plans on just crashing back here.

I just shrug and hand her back her bag. "I'm your bestie, not your maid."

"Maybe I should have asked you the same question." She stated swinging her bag over her shoulder as we made it back upstairs and into my room.

"Nothing, I just didn't sleep all too well last night." I told her just as she sets the bag by my bed.

"Uh-oh. Spill!"

"What? There is nothing to talk about. I just didn't sleep too well."

"Claire. Did you forget who you were talking to? Your bestie, your right hand gal, your shoulder to cry on, your partner in crime!" She said flailing her hands above her head to make a point.

"Alright, alright." I giggled at her sillyness. "If I tell you, you have to swear to keep your mouth shut about it."

"Now when have I ever told any of your secrets Claire?" She sat on the edge of my bed and I sat in front of her.

"Okay." I look from side to side before answering her and whispered but just enough for her to hear. "Yesterday, when Josh said he wanted to talk to me in private...he asked me to-er-well to be his...girlfriend." I said the last part very, very quietly but Echo still heard it because she made this rather disgusted face.

"You said 'no' right?"

"N-not exactly."

"What! Claire! You said 'yes'?!"

"Shh! Keep it down! And no I just didn't give him an answer. My cellphone rang and Max needed me to come home, so I just left."

The corner of Echo's mouth curved into a devious smile. "Oh, Max wanted you to come home?"

"Yeah? So?"

"Claire and Max sitting in a tree-" I blushed a deep red.

"You seriously aren't doing that stupid childish rhyme are you? What are you? Five?" I asked cutting her off.

"I always knew you liked him."

"Who?"

"Max! Are you dumb or something?"

"Shh! Keep it down and no I don't like him." I lied.

"Your such a big, fat liar!"

"No, I'm not."
