I rubbed the back of my neck nervously as I waited for Harry to come back.
I knew what he was doing. He was going to Lisa's apartment that she bought the day we broke up. He wanted to see if she was still there, or if she moved. We just got back from Florida, because we were doing a promotional concert for our new album in Orlando.
I didn't have time to physically look for her, but I've been doing so much online.
Her Instagram account was deleted. There's no trace of her on any Internet website, unless it was with me.
Her phone number is different. I tried calling her old one, but only got a teenage boy answering.
If she's not in her old apartment, we don't know what we're going to do to find her.
Harry told me that it was better if he went to her apartment instead of me. He didn't want anything else to go on between us until we had everything solved.
Speaking of Harry, I heard keys jiggle from outside. I quickly walked to the door and unlocked and opened it before he even got a chance to stick his key in the slot.
He looked pale.
I quickly directed him to the couch and made him sit down.
"What happened?" I asked as soon as he did.
"Sh-she's there. She's at her apartment," he breathed out. I jumped up as soon as the words came out of his mouth.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go there now!" I exclaimed and began opening the door.
"Louis," Harry stated calmly as he stood up. I ignored him and got even more excited.
"I'll finally see her again. I'll know she's okay!"
"Louis."
"She'll be so happy to see me too! I ca-"
"Louis!" Harry yelled and closed the door.
"What?"
"I don't think you should go to her."
After he said that, I furrowed my eyebrows and balled my fists.
"What's that supposed to mean? I love her and I need to make sure she's okay, Harry," I responded.
"Louis, she doesn't even know who she is. I think it would be a good idea to let her find herself again instead of forcing it onto her," he stated calmly by I still didn't want to understand his logic.
"Have you gone mad? There's a man, an awful one, at that, who is feeding her lies and telling her she's someone she's not! You saw it yourself, he's pretending to be married to her. Do you even realize how bad this is?"
"Of course I do, Louis! From what I saw, there's nothing there to help her remember who she is. No pictures, nothing. But, that's the thing with amnesia. If you don't give the victim time to reevaluate their life and force all the information onto them, it can be overwhelming to them, especially if there are twenty years worth of remembrance," he fought back and that's when I actually realized what was going on.
If Lisa saw me, she wouldn't recognize me. She wouldn't even know my name, let alone what we had, the love we shared.
That thought alone caused my eyes to well up with tears. I slowly made my way over to the couch and sat down. I pulled my knees up to my chest and buried my head into them.
