lisa

I gasped as I felt my keys slip from my hand, falling with a slight clink to the floor.

"Oh my God, David. You scared me," I said before laughing lightly, bending down to pick up my keys in the process.

"Answer." David said in a deep, angry voice. It almost sounded like a growl. It slightly terrified me.

"I was at the park," I responded.

"Liar."

"I promise you, I was! I needed to clear my head so I went for a walk. I fell asleep on the grass by the pond and didn't realize what time it was when I woke up," I lied. David didn't seem to buy it.

"Then, what's in the bag?" he asked, referring to my rucksack. He took a step closer. I took a step back.

"Extra clothes," I said honestly. I prayed he would buy my reasoning.

"Why on Earth would you bring extra clothes when you're just going on a walk?"

"In case you wanted to meet up for dinner, I could change in a bathroom and be ready," I explained. Still lying.

He took a step closer. I took a step back. My back hit the wall.

"We never go out for dinner," David pointed out. He looked calm, but I knew inside he was furious.

"You never know, right?" I chuckled, hoping to lighten his mood. His serious look didn't even slightly falter one bit.

"You went out without my consent."

He took a step closer. I couldn't back up anymore, I began feeling scared.

"I didn't realize I needed your consent for everything I do," I said quietly. David quickly took a step closer and slammed his hand against the wall right my my head. I jumped and gasped out of fear, closing my eyes in the process.

"You do need my consent, Lisa. Do you even understand how dangerous the world is? I swear to God, sometimes you act so dumb," David said loudly right in my face.

"I'm not dumb," I defended myself, trying my best to seem brave by crossing my arms in front of my chest. David moved his hand and backed up, now fuming with anger.

"That's what you think! But, when I come home and see you gone, but your car is still here, of course I'm going to expect the worst! Why did you need to go out to clear your head? What did you even need to clear your head from? All the memories that you can't remember? Why the hell did you think I would buy that?" David yelled and I felt the corners of my eyes prickle with tears.

Of course he had to bring my inability to remember into this.

"Can you stop? All I did was take a stroll in the park and fall asleep. You have absolutely no right to be angry with me right now," I attempted to reason with him but he just continued to give me a cold, hard stare. It stayed that way for quite a while. Once he spoke, his voice was calm and he shifted his gaze to the ground.

"I just don't think you were alone."

I felt my breath hitch in my throat.

He knows.

"What does that mean?" I asked, acting like I had no idea what was going on.

"It means that I think you've been meeting with someone," he explained loudly and stepped closer again.
