After the exhausting explanation of what happened when we left Mike and Derek, Mike's face drained of all the color and was replaced a ghostly expression. He seemed to fidget, he never fidgets he usually is able to control any discomfort but this time seems different, like he was keeping something from us.

"What's wrong?" this seems to catch his attention and he tries to stop fidgeting

"What do you mean?" I raised my eyebrow in a 'spit it out' kind of way. He takes a breathe and sighs deeply

"Okay.. I didn't think that this would happen. It was coming from the crazy flamethrower guy, I mean like how was I suppose to know that it was real"

"What are you talking about?"

"When I was in the sanatorium the flamethrower guy because I thought he was the one that took Jess... He had these notes everywhere talking about pioneers and a curse.. But he also had these notes hidden behind those that talked about the Indigenous people that used to own this land"

I looked at him and waved my hand for him to keep going, he took in a breathe and spoke quietly

"There were these warriors who would go up and hunt the Wendigo's. They made sure that they were all exterminate but one day when one of the warriors kid's wandered upon the nest of the Wendigo's. The warriors made there way to rescue the kid but when they found the kid, the kid was the only one there. No Wendigo's in sight. The kid looked normal, except his mouth was different. His teeth were formed into sharp separated fang like teeth. He acted like himself but they soon found out that the kid had actually in fact started to eat away at the majority of the Wendigo's and the decapitated body parts that were there previously. The kid, the kid wasn't the same. When the minority of the Wendigo's tried to attack the warriors the kid screeched in this intense screech that I guess made the Wendigo's back off. The kid then led the warrior's back down the mountain but after the screech no Wendigo dared to come near the kid or the warrior's. The kid had this air of confidence and leadership that wasn't a normal thing since he was only a child. The kid told the warriors to not come back, the warriors listened and left."

"It was said that the kid was what was know as the alpha of the Wendigo's. Though after a few days the warriors knew that even if they knew the kid they needed to stop him and the rest of the Wendigo's. So they started up the mountain again and all seven of them stood at each entrance and did a ritual to get rid of the curse. But before they could finish Wendigo's started with the kid leading the Wendigo's, though this time the kid was not longer the kid that they had known he was in the transformation stage of becoming a Wendigo. The warriors were heavily out numbered and were killed except one, an old women. She called upon one of the ancient spirits to trap the curse in the mountain and burn the remaining Wendigo's. The spirits accepted and burned every Wendigo in sight and trap the curse in the mountain. Though when she was taking her last breathes she saw the kid twisting and churning from him being on fire. He screamed a human scream and started sobbing. The old women could take it anymore and crawled towards the kid and took him in her arms and they laid there just waiting for death to take them. The kid that had become the alpha was actually the old women's grandchild, she took care of him when his parents died from the previous Wendigo encounters and had no one but her"

I had to look away because I could feel my heart break that poor women and kid, they had no one but each other and ended up dying with each other, how unfair. I looked down at my feet pushing back tears, even though she stabbed Josh I felt sympathy for her. I felt someone put arms around my waist and put their head on my top of mine, I knew who it was from the warmth of them. I leaned into Josh even more but for some reason when I looked up at him Josh seemed worried, why though. I looked at Mike brushing off the thought for right now,
