Chapter 4

Josh's voice sounded deeper and groggy I knew from what Derek had told me was no doubt Josh but something was telling me I didn't want to know. I walked closer to Josh only a few centimeters away, I reached out a hand to touch his shoulder but he moved at an inhumanly speed. I looked around and he was gone hidden in the shadows, now there was only Alex and I still out in the open; I looked at Alex and he had stopped groaning but kept looking in the directly that Josh went in with horror.

"That thing... Was that the Wendigo?" I couldn't reply to him I was so close to getting Josh and he ran away.

"Mike we need to get these people out and get Josh"

"Y/n are you sure? I don't want to be an asshole but if he is becoming a Wendigo than there's nothing really-"

"Fine then I'll go find him and you get everyone out just stay out of my way". As soon as I had said that Mike looked shocked and angry that I had said that.

"I'm not leaving you alone down here but I just thought-"

"Thought what? I would see him transforming into a Wendigo and take off running! I would never do that!"

"Y/n just listen to me-" I didn't listen to the rest. I would not stand to hear someone lecture me into not finding the one I loved. I could hear them whisper-shout my name but I didn't look back or stop, I came here for a reason and I'll see it through till the very end.

I soon felt a hand on my shoulder and being spooked jumped around ready for a fight, Olivia put her hands up in surrender.

"Y/n it's just me. We're not leaving you behind so I convinced Mike and Derek to stay where they are and I'll help you look. I may not look it from what happened before but I can fight" she motioned towards for biceps and started flexing. That made me smile, I hope after this we can be friends.

"Thanks but you should have stayed with the others-"

"Don't worry you two prince charming is here to make sure you guys are safe" I saw Alex walking towards us and I could see Olivia's rising and falling from laughing.

"I think we're good. Just go back with the boys"

"And leave two lovely ladies for the monsters? No way"

"If I remember right, you hit me over the head cause you were starting to freak out", he just waves a dismissal hand and starts to walk in front of us.

"So where is this Wendigo- I mean Josh?" I quickly looked at him and saw that he had his hand on his gun the whole time. He better not aim that at Josh or else I'll be the one tearing him apart.

"Y/n I don't want to be rude or anything but is that why you wanted to come back to see if Josh was alive or not?" There's no time to lie especially to someone that I trust.

"Yes. Before we all got rescued we got ambushed by some Wendigo's and they took Josh, I was trying to get to him but he was gone and Mike saved my life. I just needed to know that he was alive" I went quiet after that but Olivia just nodded

"I understand. I mean if it was Derek and I, I would do the same thing" she looks at me and gives me a reassuring look.

"I know this sounds odd but did Josh snap Derek's leg?"

"No he didn't. When we were approaching him he stood up and gave a predator like stand but he never attacked us. I think he was trying to warn us because next thing you know it something comes behind us snaps Derek's leg and kills Rachel. Josh actually saved us because he attacked the other Wendigo and killed it with his bare hands. He's no threat but Derek might say something different because after seeing his leg he passed out so he only saw Josh. But I swear to you Josh was the one that saved us and put us in hiding". I could feel my face start to smile and I felt a warm bubbling feeling inside my stomach. I definitely needed to find him.
