I walked into the detention room to find a girl with electric blue hair in the very corner of the room. Three other people were sitting in desks around the room, none of them sat close together. So I went and sat down away from everybody in the corner of the right side of the room. A slight blast of cool air from the classroom door rushed in as someone sat down in the chair next to me.

"I guess we're just meant to be together. Huh, sweetheart."

I rolled my eyes as I realized it was Dallas. "You know I am going to have to get you back for putting me in detention."

"Well, at least we can have a little fun before that happens." He grinned.

"Kill me now." I breathed, throwing my head back.

Dallas pushed his desk up against mine, pulling out a small piece of ripped paper. He crumpled it in his hand before flicking it to me.

"Really we're going to play hockey with a rolled up piece of paper?"

"Got any better ideas to pass the time."

"Yeah," I answered pulling out my headphones and putting them in.

Dallas reached over and pulled out the left headphone. "That was rude." He made a frown at me before putting the headphone in his ear. "This is a good song." He began nodding his head up and down to the beat.

"Yeah, I don't listen to the shitty music girls like nowadays."

"I see that," Dallas said looking at the other half of the room.

The rest of our detention was quiet and before we knew it, it was over.

As soon as the teacher dismissed us I took my headphone away from Dallas and rushed out all the doors of the school. Without bothering to say good bye to anyone. When my feet hit the concrete I dropped my skateboard and rode off towards my house.

When I reached the front door of our house I grabbed the handle twisting it to see if it was unlocked. To my luck it wasn't so I pulled the spare house key out from underneath the flower pot. I hastily unlocked the door, dropping everything before shutting the door behind me.

I took a seat at my desk in my small room examining the crumpled papers that were strewn in front of me. Loud voices appeared in the hallway so I popped my head out to see who it was. My brother Mark was talking with Dallas. Shit!!! I quickly ducked my head away hoping that Dallas hadn't seen me. I looked over at my doorway to find Dallas standing there.

"Nice room."

Mark popped his head in. "I see that you've met my sister."

"You could say that."

Pervert. I glared at both of them and stuck my tongue out at Mark.

"Right," Mark quickly fled the scene and went into his bedroom.

"Your such a perv," I said turning back to my papers.

"That's not even the worst."

"Gross."

"You wish I was gross sweetheart."

"Have you seen that ugly face of yours."

"It must not be that ugly since the girls drop into a trance whenever they see me."

"Well, they drop into a trance so they don't have to pay attention to your distorted face."

"Okay, that hurt right here." He frowned, putting his hand over his heart.

"I'm not as sweet as you thought, huh."

"Nope your just super sweet."

I rolled my eyes. "Only you would think that."

"I'm one in a million, babe."

"Sure," I mumbled. "Now can you leave me alone I'm trying to study unlike you."

"What are you studying." He asked coming over to my desk and looking over my shoulder.

"Math," I replied. "Now go hang out with my idiot brother."

"When's the math test?" He asked ignoring me.

I rolled my eyes. "It's in a couple of weeks."

"Well if that's the case your going to the skate park with me and your "idiot" brother." He demanded, grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the room.

I struggled under his grip as he practically drug me downstairs. Mark was waiting next to the door his skateboard resting against his left leg.

"Is she coming?" Mark asked, looking slightly annoyed.

"Yes, I invited her because she looked bored."

I glared up at Dallas. Jerk!

"Grab your skateboard," Dallas ordered while letting go of my arm.

I went over and grabbed my board with a scowl on my face as I headed out the door. Mark was at the end of the driveway with his skateboard on the ground.

"Come on babe your taking forever move those fine legs," Dallas called from where he stood on the sidewalk.

I looked at the ground trying to hide my warm cheeks before setting down my skateboard in front of the driveway. I got on and pushed my foot against the concrete making the skateboard start to glide gracefully.

"Now whose the slowpoke," I called over my shoulder with a smirk.

"Mark is," Dallas passed me, making my smirk disappear.

I ran my left leg against the concrete a couple times until I was right beside him. "That's to bad for him cause he's going to miss out on the fun." I teased while speeding up and putting more force into my foot when it hit the concrete.

"You're on," Dallas called from behind me.
