My stomach tenses as I hear his voice and I feel even more like an idiot for listening to him."Follow me." He says turning on his heal and heading for the open gate.
I grab Dallas's hand and follow after Kyle. The group of teenagers that were with Kyle trapped us in the center between all of them and I pushed my side against Dallas's, feeling claustrophobic. We walked down the sidewalk all the way to the edge of the woods.
"After you." Kyle says giving me an evil grin.
I looked at Kyle with an uneasy gaze before going into the trees. Kyle grabbed my belt loop with his finger making me come to a stop in a clearing.
"What's going on?" I ask feeling uneasy.
"Why do you think something is going on?" Kyle asks. "I'm trying to have a nice conversation with you and him." He says looking at Dallas with his blue eyes.
I don't answer as I feel my stomach tense.
"Fine than. Let's just get down to business." Kyle says letting go of my belt loop. "I would like to get this whole crazy business over with."
I look up from my feet only to see a coal black pistol in Kyle's hand. "Are you crazy!?"
"I might be." He says lifting the pistol so its pointed at Dallas's head. "Or I'm just protecting what's mine."
"Kyle put the gun down." I say panic rising in my stomach.
"No." He says his voice steady and determined. "He needs to learn not to touch other peoples stuff."
Dallas stands still, his body tense and there was no trace of any emotion on his face.
"I'm not yours." I sat my voice confident.
Kyle turns so his eyes meet mine. "I would go there if I were you, Sweetheart."
"I'm nobodies."
He frowns and turns the gun so the barrel rests on my head.
"Sat it again." He says angrily
"I'm nobodies."
His once beautiful features turn into a dark expression that sends chills down my back. I turned my head to look at Dallas with fear in my eyes. He looks stunned and a feeling of doom rises into my mind. Your journey is coming to an end, Kat. I take a deep breath getting ready for the bullet to pass through my skull. Closing my eyes I take another deep breath. Silence fills the air around me until a groan makes the birds flee. I open my eyes to find Dallas on top of Kyle wrestling the gun out of his hands. Dallas throws the gun and the barrel lands inside the dirt. Dallas some how manages to get his belt off and he ties Kyles hands together. By that time all the rest of Kyle's buddies have already fled. Dallas stands up and grabs the pistol tucking it in his jeans he grabs my hand.
"I won't let anyone hurt you anymore Kat."
I smile and hug him. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me in closer.
"I love you more than anything."
Kat, your journey has only just begun. I breath in his scent. "I love you too."
