"DADDY!! Daddy i'm scared!"
"ALEX RUN!"
"Daddy, he's got a gun!"
"Alex just RUN!"
The gun shot was loud and thunderous on this stormy evening. It was as if the sound was bouncing from one building over to the other back and forth until it reached over the top of the dark ally. I could hear the bullet coming, it sounded almost like a whip before it made contact with anything. I didn't know the bullet hit my father until he started slowing down. He completely stopped. The blood dropped in thick drips, you could tell the difference between the sound of his blood hitting the concrete below him and the rain falling around us. As I watched my father spit out some blood he fell onto the ground with a thud.
The thug that was chasing us ran off as soon as he knew his bullet made contact with my father.
"Daddy, Get up. He's not chasing us anymore daddy, we can go home now, Please Daddy, get up!" I was sobbing, I had no control, my father was always the strongest man i ever knew, he was suppose to be, well to me, LIKE SUPERMAN! Me being so young i never thought any could hurt him. "Daddy, please, we need to go home now."
"Alex." My father sounded weak, short on breath and bleeding seemed almost like a faucet, glowing a dark maroon color mixing in with the rain around us. "Alex, listen to me. You need to run. Don't trust anyone!" He took shallow breaths while speaking, it was scaring me.
"Daddy, i'm scared, daddy you can get up your fine lets just go home." I tried to convince myself that he was ok, but i knew by how still he was, that we weren't going to be leaving together.
"Alex, i'm going to go be with your mommy now. Take care of YOURSELF! Don't trust anyone but your uncle Joe. He will find you." His breathing became very slow, and sounded as though he had water in his lungs. "Just keep running Alex, you will be OK, me and your mom will be with you always." He coughed up some more blood, his eyes started to twitch as he grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "Run Alex, and don't.....look.....back......"
"Daddy?" I sat next to my father, completely drenched with a mixture of blood and rain. "Daddy?" My fathers hand let go of mine and slid to the ground. My father was dead.
"DADDY!!!!"
I could hear the sirens of the police cars coming, my father said not to trust anyone, so i started running in the opposite direction of where my fathers body laid motionless and peaceful. When i got to the other side of the alleyway i turned around to see a police officer stop and look over my father. I stood there for a brief moment before I ran off away from here.
"Bye daddy. I'll miss you."
