Mystery's POV

We were now relaxing on the hood of his car when my phone rang and I answered.

"Hello?" ..

"Mystery .. c-come home, Alex O.D on painkillers!" My mother said panicked

"What?!" I screeched sitting up

"We are on out way to the Hospital but you need to come he doesn't look so good" she said

"I'm on my way" I said

I slapped the phone shut and started to get off the hood using my good hand.

"What's wrong?" The asked

"Alex overdosed on painkillers" i said

"What?!"

"Yeah, I gotta get to the hospital"

We got into the car and Adam was quick to speed off and in minutes we were on the main road towards the hospital.

I was so nervous and anxious and in our haste to get to the hospital, Adam blazed through two stop lights and took short cuts.

We made it in twenty five minutes and had to wait in the car for a few minutes for me to collect myself.

"You okay?" Adam asks

"This is my fault. I was being so hard on him not forgiving him, i was so mean to him.... And he O.D himself" I whispered

He reached across to my face and wiped my tears away.

"This is not your fault, he hurt you and deserved to be ignored for what he did to you" he said seriously

I took a shaky breath and he kissed my lips softly and sincerely.

"Let's go" I said

Getting out of the car and getting directions from a helpful nurse, we made it to Alex's private room.

"Mom?" I called as I entered

My mother was by Alex's beside holding his hand, my father was on the phone by the window.

"Mystery.... The doctors just finished pumped his stomach and he'll come too soon" my mother said

I nodded mutely and Adam came in and held my hand tightly, providing the comfort and support I needed.

"Why would he overdose?" Adam asked

My mother looked uncomfortable at the question and shifted in her seat beside Alex.

"Alex was upset about mystery moving on, shouting that he hates you Adam and wants her back.... He aid he'd rather die than live without her, so he locked himself in the bathroom and stole my pills" she said tears escaping once more

I took in this information in silence and tears once more than threatened to escape so I buried my face in Adams shoulder and her rubbed my back as I sobbed.

Just as I thought, it is my fault.

After a couple minutes Alex began to show signs of waking. I broke away from Adam and sat at the edge of the bed waiting for him to open his eyes.

"Mystery" he whispered in His sleepy state

"I'm here" I whispered

"Im sorry.... I" he was looking distressed and panicked

I walked to his free side and gripped his hand, he turned to me and relaxed slightly.

"I forgive you" I said tears about to break again

He stared at me and I held eye contact

"I missed you" he whispered

I didn't reply I just gave a shaky smile but I looked up at Adam whom was watching in the corner with a blank expression that I didn't like to see.

"You had us worried for a minute Alex" my father said

"I'm sorry sir, I lost control for a moment" he said not releasing my hand

"Well, I informed your father and he is coming tomorrow morning to visit you" my father said

"Understandable"

Adam and Alex's eyes met and Alex's face flashed with regret and guilt but also something else.

"Adam, how are you?" Alex asks

"Fine" Adam replied clipped

"I'm sorry about what happened in the past man, I was a stupid kid that didn't know any better" he said

Adam studied him and them his eyes flickered to me, I nodded mutely and his expression softened.

"I forgive you man" he allowed

"Thanks man, means a lot" he said obviously relieved

I smiled, Alex seems happy and it made me smile, I have to make it up to him so that he doesn't do it again to himself, thats my responsibility to Alex.

"Well, if you and Adam want to start heading home together you can go" my mother said to me

I looked to Adam and agreed. I squeezed Alex's hand and left with Adam.

I was left to my thoughts on the way down to the car and once inside Adam reached over and kissed me deeply and desperately catching Me completely off guard, so I hesitated before kissing him back.

"Adam.........what's .. .the matter" I managed in between his powerful kisses

He trailed his lips to my neck and began sucking on my tender skin, I knotted my hand in his lush hair and tugged it gently.

"Adam" I whispered

He broke the kiss and pecked my lips once more before resting his forehead on mine.

"What's wrong?" I asked

His eyes were closed as if he was saving this moment.

"Nothing I just really like kissing you, being with you" he said after a moment

"Me too" I smiled

He pulled away and started the car, my good hand was intertwined with his as he drove.

My thoughts drifted back to Alex, thinking of how I'm the reason he overdosed himself, I was too hard on him, didn't give him a chance and acted like a bitch.

But from Now onwards, I'll be nicer to him, I'll try to be his friend and make him as happy as I can.
