I looked up to the familiar face who I could only define as being my ex boyfriend, Todd. I had met Todd back in High School a few years back and we became really close until he cheated on me. What the heck was he doing in the UK?
"U-Uh yes. That would be me" I replied.
"Oh my gosh, I haven't seen you in forever! We should catch up! Would you like to go to coffee with me?" he asked, politely. Part of me thought 'Hey, maybe he's mature now and is just being nice. You should you' and the other part was thinking 'This guy is just being flirty. You already have enough drama in your life. Come on, just tell that jerk your busy'.
I went with the second option.
"Um, maybe another time. I'm busy with stuff at the moment." I explained, quickly.
"Oh" he paused, reaching for his pocket, "Here my number" he added, extending his arm. I sighed and took it, fake smiling.
"Alright. See you around" I waved. He winked and turned around leaving the store. As soon as he turned, I threw the number into a trash bin not giving a care in the world. I didn't like him so what would be the point in hanging out with him?
After about half an hour, I had a cart full of cereal, fruit, tea, a new pillow, and etc. Now I could officially live in London with food and a flat. I walked out of the store with a full bag. It was a bit heavy but I could handle it. I checked my watch as I walked back into my flat, dropping the bags down on the ground.
After about 15 minutes of watching Supernatural on TV, I got bored and decided to see what Dan and Phil were up to. I fixed my hair quickly and left, closing the door behind me.
I knocked on the door and Phil's familiar face popped up. "Oh! Hey, Ema" Phil greeted.
"Hey! I'm terribly bored. Can I stay over a bit?" I asked.
"You can stay as long as you like. I was just putting music wanna put some songs while I make something to eat?" he asked. I nodded and entered. I looked around the apartment and noticed Dan wasn't there.
"Where's Dan?" I asked politely. Phil turned around and smiled.
"He told me he met this girl at the cafe nearby and wanted to ask for her number. I think her name was Kaliyah from what I recall" Phil explained, walking back into the kitchen with a whisk in hand. I gulped in shock. I didn't know Dan liked someone.
"Uh, that's nice" I murmured, flicking through Phil's phone for a good song.
"Huh?"
"Oh nothing". Damn mumbling. I decided to play some "The Calendar" by Panic! At The Disco. I sat on the couch waiting for the food.
"Do you like cheese?" Phil hollered from the kitchen. I craned my neck to look in his direction.
"Yeah!" I yelled back.
"Oh! Well I'm making pasta but with no cheese! You can put some on your plate if you'd like!" he replied.
"Okay!" I said and turned back around. I kept thinking of Dan as "Always" came on shuffle play. I closed my eyes singing along quietly.
"I love this song" Phil said closer than he was before. I opened my eyes as he handed me a plate of pasta with a fork.
"Thanks" I thanked.
The rest of the night, we watched Netflix and relaxed on the couch. My mind was clouded with Dan that I wouldn't focus on the movie.
Kaliyah. I hope Phil said the right name.
