How did I know it would hurt this much
To give you all I had and fall apart
Away from the turbulent waves
Of love and everything that was lost
I found the chimes of winds changing
Ringing the bells of a new tomorrow
But I couldn't leave this sacred place
With no hope of a different future
When you know what you have is good
You convince yourself you can't do better
Falling into the assumptions of your own being
Created for the sands to drag you down
Trying so hard to fight this insecurity
But how can you fight something you believe
Coming from the minds of doubtful waters
This whole world is more than reality
Imagining is scarier than the real world
Because you believe in what you feel
Emotions so strong it could start a war
Breaking down the internal barriers you set so high
Loving is such a complex thing
Nobody told me that it would be this hard
To willing give up a love that was almost gone
Even if one match could have started the spark
I let my hand slip
Because I gave up on holding on
To something that was only there in my dreams
Instead of the brutal reality
From the war of self-hate and self-love
Inner peace has waged its war
The reverence of what you had is found
Stop and breathe to hear its sound
