Time Ceases

I thought I had a world of time

I looked back and saw the pendulum swing

Tick tock back and forth

Crippled by the ringing sound of each second gone by

What happened to each moment?

Ever fleeting and ever changing

I used to know the sound of your voice

Everything sounds louder except I can't hear you

My brain seems to give out

Whenever I try to see your face

Why can't I remember anything about you?

My life seems to be turning grey

What would I give to go back?

To just hold your hand one more time

To let the words of my heart speak

Illusions of what will be and what was

Reality ceases to exist

I refuse to comprehend the words around me

Of voices remembering

Of voices forgotten

Asking questions without answers

I sit her wondering why, why?

This was far too fast

Please don't let this time pass

I promise myself that I won't forget

And I say these tears are the reminders

I pray for the pool to cool my restless soul
