I could hear giggling coming from Katie as Shay kissed her and I rolled over digging a little hole into the sand trying to disappear.

"Hello?" Tigeress said and I groaned hoping she will take the hint and go away but I wasn't that lucky she sat next to me and she leaned her back against my side. "How are you?"

"Fine.. You?"

"I'm ok."

"Yeah.."

"Are you busy?"

"Yeah."

"Good so I was hoping we could talk."

"I'm sleeping."

"No you're not. You're spying on Shay and Katie... So did the news get to you about them? Oh is that why you're trying to bury yourself into the sand? That's just so sad you lost Janice then you lost whatever you and Katie had.. Did you guys not have a label yet?"

"We didn't have a label because there was nothing to label!" I yelled... That came out louder than I expected. I could see Dan and Vega look over at us since they were sitting close but they soon looked back at each other going back into their conversation. "Can't you go and bother someone else?"

"You love her don't you?"

"If you mean Janice yes but if you mean Katie then..."
I don't know. Do I like her?... Nah that's crazy.
"No. She's like a sister."

"Don't you have someone to cheat on?"

"Ouch that was mean asshat."

"I know I was hoping if I played the asshole guy you would leave me alone."

"No.."

"Look." I leaned up and I looked at her. "I don't like, love, or think Katie smells or looks nice, she isn't beautiful, she isn't anything.. She isn't my girlfriend she wasn't even in the running.. You know you were more in th-"

"Don't even think about it I'm a married women."

"Didn't stop you before."

"Shut up Hunter... Now being mean or flirty isn't going to make me magically walk away."

"Damnit it was worth a try."

"Better luck next time shorty. Now you brought up Katie smelling good you know what she smells like?"

"No"
Kinda but I'll never tell her that.

"Does that mean yes?"

"No means no... Do you need a dictionary?"

"No.. Where are you going to get one?"

"I don't know... I'll bring Guthrie over he seems pretty smart."

"Do you really think that?"

"Yeah."

"Look who he is playing coconut catch with?"

"Ah is that what we're calling it now?"

"Yes."

I looked over at Guthrie and Thomas playing catch. Every time Guthrie caught the coconut Thomas would praise him and I smiled a bit who knew Thomas could be nice.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Is that question how to steal Katie away from Shay then ask away."

"No that's not it."

"Oh that's boring. What then?"

"Why did you and Brett need to reconnect?"

"Well... Is that any of your business?"

I looked at her as she looked down at the sand and I could tell the sympathy card she was playing was just an act what she has with Brett isn't love.

"Why?"

"I don't love him Hunter."
Kinda figured that.

"I know but why? He seems nice."

"He is but he's predictable.. The fire left us years ago.. Can I tell you something I never told anyone else before?"

"Yeah.."

"Can you keep it a secret?"

"Who am I going to tell?"

"Good point.." we were quiet for a while and I watched as Katie and Shay dance to imaginary music and my blood boiled. Tigeress cleared her voice and she spoke up "My daughter Isa isn't Brett's."

I looked at her in total shock. "You're kidding."

"Nope... I was seeing someone else and I told him that I was pregnant and well he skipped town I told Brett that the baby was his."

"So he doesn't know?"

"Nope."

"Aren't you worried that I will tell him?"

"Nope you told me a secret so I told you one."

"I didn't tell you a secret."

"You didn't but your eyes told me more of a different story..." she stood up and looked down at me. "Oh hey Hunter before I forget, Katie told us girls about this little fantasy she had that involved you.."

She's having weird fantasies about me?

"She told us that she always just wanted you to walk up to her and grabbed her giving her the most passionate kiss you ever gave anyone.. She always hoped she could get you to forget Janice and I guess she did a pretty good job at that since you stopped looking for her."

"I didn't stop looking for her."

"Yeah you did. In the beginning you looked for her non stop and now you don't ever."

"When I'm out I look for her."

"Ok whatever... Just keep Katie's fantasy in mind. I'm pretty sure she's with Shay just to make you jealous."

"JEALOUS!!" she yelled as she walked away.

I don't even like her...
