Sense Of Longing

I woke up with a sense of longing and my heart hurt along with my head. I miss Janice I have searched what seems like this whole entire island within the 2 days I have been here for her.

I feel like I have been trapped here longer than 2 days maybe I have maybe I haven't I kept losing track of my time. It seems so limited. It probably is but I can't bring myself to think further into that.

I lifted my head and I could see our very tiny group of survivors they were scattered around the dirt ground sleeping. Vega slept next to her brother Guthrie, Dan slept close to his brother Shay, Thomas and Ellfie slept far away from everyone, Brett and Tigresses slept close but not so close which didn't make sense, Katie slept curled up in a ball next to a rock she looks peaceful and I can't help but smile when she moves and hits her head on the side of the rock she tries to push it away and I rolled my eyes. "You know it won't move right?" I asked softly as I got up and walked towards her I stepped over Ellfie careful not to wake him.

"I wish it would." she told me.

"You want to take a walk?" I asked.

"With you?"

"Would you rather walk with the rock because I'm perfectly capable of walking by myself if you two need some alone time."

"Bob seems kind of fat today."

"Already on first name bases you guys move fast." I laughed as I held out my hand and she grabbed it, I helped her up. I helped knock some dirt out of her long blonde hair. "I always wished Janice wore her hair as long as this."

"Why didn't she wear hers this long? This is like normal girl hair length."

"Too long she's a stubborn girl, she's a very complicated person."

"You gotta always fall for the most complicated people."

"Don't ya." I laughed.

"So what's your imput on the group?"

"Vega and Guthrie are adorable so young." I said.

"Yeah 16 whole life in front of them it's a shame."

"Yeah.. And the newest to the group Ellfie I feel bad for him he's so old if he has a heart attack from this heat I'm going to cry."

"He's so sweet yesterday I was trying to do something to my hair to keep it off of me and he braided it for me."

"Aw." I laughed. "What's your take on Dan and Shay?"

"Those boys won't shut up I threw a rock at them last night just to shut them up but then their laughter never stopped. Dan keeps falling out of trees too."

"The married couple?"

"Brett is a nervous reck keeps talking about how this place is no good. Island seems safe to me." she told me as she started brushing her hair out with her fingers. "I would kill for a hair brush."

I pulled a branch off the tree and I handed it to her "For the time being?" she grabbed it using it. "Alright I was kidding."

"It's working isn't it?"

"You're such a girl."

"Did you know there's only 3 girls on this entire island we're surrounded by men it's so annoying."

"At least you know there's a bunch of men here to protect you girls."

"Uh huh watch we will be reading you boys bedtime stories and singing you all to sleep."

"Speaking of boys and sleep how about Thomas?"

"He seems off and weird."

"Did you know he wanted to leave Ellfie? He was literally drowning and he wouldn't help him. I can't even swim.. I'm terrified of water and I went in there. Why wouldn't he?"
