Your Point of View

I arrive at the cemetery. I flew back to Texas, along with Adam and the whole crew. Adam and I hold hands as we take our seats at the funeral. Jin is sitting next to me and Ross is sitting next to Adam.

People stand in front of the coffin and say kind words and stories about my mother. In the middle of it, Adam whispers "It's your turn," as my uncle steps off the stage. I stand up, and all eyes are on me. I walk onto the stage and grab the microphone. Instead of speaking, I decided to sing "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" saying mother instead of father.

I look to the piano player in the corner, and he nods solemnly before playing the slow, sad melody.

You were once my one companion

You were all that mattered

You were once and friend and mother

Then my world was shattered

Wishing you were somehow here again

Wishing you were somehow near

Sometimes it seemed if I just dreamed

Somehow you would be here

Wishing I could hear your voice again

Knowing that I never would

Dreaming of you helped me to do

All that you dreamed I could

I started to choke up, but swallowed and started singing again.

Passing bells and sculpted Angels

Cold and monumental

Seem for you the wrong companions

You were warm and gentle

I paused and took a steadying breath

To many years fighting back tears

Why can't the past just die?!?!

I felt a tear fall down my cheek, but I kept singing.

Wishing you were somehow here again

Knowing we must say goodbye....

Try to forgive

Teach me to live!

Give me the strength to try!

No more memories

No more silent tears

No more gazing across the wasted years

Help me say goodbye

Help me say... Goodbye

I finish the song. Everyone stands up and claps. Some are crying, like Adam. Some have put sympathetic looks on there faces. I walk back to my seat, tears flooding my face. I sit down and put my head on Jin's shoulder while holding Adam's hand.

Fast forward to after the funeral

After the funeral, the crew and I got some hotel rooms to stay in for the night. There were four rooms, so we all decided to have two people to a room. The editors went in one, Adam and Alesa went in the next one, while Ross, John, Jin and I tried to split us into two groups.

"I'll go with Y/N," Says Ross, stepping closer to me.

"No, I'll go with Y/N," Argues Jin, putting is arm around me.

"It's fine, I insist I go with her,"

"You'll have to go through me to be with her,"

"I'lls bes withs her!" Interrupts John, taking my arm and pulling me away from them. We grab our suitcases and go into the hotel room without glancing back.

"Thanks," I tell as we step inside. He turned to look at me. "What ares friends fors?" He smiles. It makes me feel better to know that I have a good friend with me. We survey the room. Everything was fine except for...

"There's only one bed," I gasped. "This is impossible. All of the others have two beds!"

"It's fines," Says John. "I cans sleeps on floor,"

"I can sleep on the floor," I offer.

"No, I'll bes ok."

"I'll feel bad sleeping in a nice, comfy bed while you are on the floor!"

"Well, whats do yous want me to dos?" He asks.

"I'll sleep on the floor while you sleep in the bed," I state. He holds up his hands in surrender. "Oks," He lets me take a shower first, which I am grateful for. Once I get out, I change into my pajamas and watch some T.V while o wait for John to get out of the shower. Once he's out and dressed, he gets into the bed while I make a pallet on the floor.

"You sures you wants to sleep on floor?" He asks. "I'll be fine," I insist. He shrug and gets into bed. I turn off the lights and climb into my pallet. Suddenly, the A.C turns on, and it gets really cold as the cool air hits me from the vent.

"John, is there an extra blanket up there?" I ask.

"Just come into the bed!"

"Ugh, fine." I get up and trudge through the darkness. I finally find the bed and climb into it. I was so close to John I could feel the warmth radiating off of him. It was warmer than the floor though, so I stayed in the bed.

"It's still cold."

"Reallys Y/Ns?"

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding!" I smile in the darkness, and he chuckles.

"Goodnights." He says.

"Goodnight." Before I fall asleep, I feel him drape another blanket on top of me.

Thanks, John.
