Mira's POV
Last night April had promised to tell me what happened with detention, and that I'd tell her what happened with Neville. I realised she must have got up early, she wasn't in her bed. I made my way downstairs into the common room.''Hey April. Why you up so early?'' I asked her, kneeling on the floor in front of her.
She mumbled something that sounded like, ''Just feeling a little agitated is all....''
I smiled, ''How 'bout some breakfast then?''
Jumping up, April returned the smile, ''Yeah, let's go!''
When we were just outside the hall doors, she nudged me, ''So...You and Neville...When are you going to tell me what happened?!''
I laughed at her expression, ''Eat first. Talk later,'' I answered just to annoy her.
April rolled her eyes at me, ''Ohhh kayyy,'' She replied dragging out the 'h' and 'y'. As we ate, April continued to bombard me with questions, but I didn't care. After breakfast, we walked back to the Ravenclaw common room. We sat down opposite each other on the floor. I crossed my legs, and April did the same.
"So. What's going on with Neville?" April asked, wiggling her eyebrows. I felt my cheeks grow hot.
"We just...studied." I replied, looking at the floor.
"Just studied? Really?" April looked up through her eyelashes, suspiciously. I nodded.
"Yeah." I grinned. April slowly got up.
"I need to go see Professor Slughorn about something. I'll see you soon?"
I gave her a slight wave, wondering what she was up to...
Aprils POV
I quickly left the room before Mira could stop me. I was going to find Neville, I told myself determinedly. Mira would thank me one day, she needed this help.
I turned down the hallway which led to the library, hoping to find Neville there. It'd make my job so much easier.
Turning the doorknob, I pulled the door open and glanced around. I saw Neville sitting in a chair by the herbology books. His face had concentration plastered all over it, as he sat there reading a book. I skipped over to him, a smile played on my lips.
''Hey Neville.'' I said, tapping his shoulder.
Neville nearly jumped a foot into the air. I smirked, knowing I had surprised him.
''H-Hey April.''
I plopped myself into a chair that was facing him. I placed my hands under my chin, my elbows against my knees. ''We need to talk,'' I announced.
Neville's mouth popped open, ''About w-what?''
I giggled, teasing him was fun. ''Mira.''
As soon as I said her name, his face turned red. He tried to focus on his book. I flicked it out of his grasp. Neville looked up at me.
''Do you like her or not, Neville?'' I confronted him, ''I know she likes you.''
Neville gasped, ''Sh-She does?''
I rolled my eyes, ''Yeah...'' I smiled at him, I knew the feeling was neutral. ''Do something about it.''
I hopped up, and started for the door. Classes would begin soon. I turned around, and thoughtfully said, ''Oh, and Neville?''
He looked up at me, from his daze.
''She's my best friend. Don't hurt her unless you want to deal with me.''
Neville still looked shocked, but gave a small nod. He then smiled, ''Thanks April.''
I smiled at him, and walked back into the hallway. I suddenly felt something tug on my arm and I was pushed lightly against the wall.
''You're a good friend.'' Draco muttered, looking into my eyes.
I opened my mouth, ''Wait, you were listening?!''
He smirked, ''I've been following you for a while April. You even avoided talking about me with Mira.'' Draco sounded smug.
I was about to answer, when something else came out of my mouth, ''Why were you following me?'' I whispered, staring at him.
''I-'' Draco started, but looked down, ''No reason.''
Realisation slowly started to form in my head, ''Wait. Draco, why?''
I then smirked, ''You're blushing.''
His hand snapped to his cheek, ''Am-Am not.''
For a minute, we just stared at each other, trying to work out what we were thinking or something to say. 'At least it isn't awkward,'I thought.
I couldn't help but wishing...he would say something....almost romantic. I kept trying to tell myself I felt nothing. That when we fought it was just anger, not...not...
I snapped myself out of it, and look around Draco. I tapped his cheek lightly, ''You there?''
Draco smiled, yes - he actually smiled. ''We'll talk...soon.''
He gave me one last look before releasing me and striding away, all confident.
I shouted at Draco, before he was out of earshot, ''We'll see!''
All I heard was his chuckling as he disappeared around the corner. I guess I'd be seeing more of Malfoy soon enough.
